    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Anita Asante
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think Austria showed that they are quite solid defensively and their backline has been quite assured. Zingsberger is a really good leader. Hanshaw has been outstanding in terms of getting the team up the pitch and delivering quality balls into the final third.

But I've been impressed with Zadrazil and she's a talent. A really technical player and links all the units together.

  2. 'Austria should have two players on Popp'published at 19:55 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Laura Georges
Former France international on BBC One

Germany are really impressive at set-pieces, it's one of their major strengths. They go in the air and the other player is ready to get the ball.

Every time Alex Popp steps on the field she gets the ball so it will be important for Austria to mark her, maybe have two players on her because she's going to be very dangerous.

The players are in the tunnel now. Don't forget this game is on BBC One and Radio 5 Live. Both on this page.

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

Germany are the only team yet to concede at this summer's tournament. They only faced five shots in the group stages.

England had not conceded either until last night's 2-1 win over Spain.

Before this year, only Germany in 2005 had got through a group stage without conceding.

  5. 'Zadrazil a key player'published at 19:51 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Laura Georges
Former France international on BBC One

Sarah Zadrazil is a leader on and off the field but playing against Germany she's going to be a key player. She makes the forward runs, connects the midfield to the attack. It's really hard to mark her.

It's like she's everywhere on the field. You can always find her pushing as much as possible, always in between the lines in order to always connect.

  6. What are the chances?published at 19:50 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Simon Gleave
Head of sports analysis, Nielsen Gracenote

Germany are strong favourites to beat Austria, the lowest ranked team in the last eight (21st on the Fifa rankings).

Gracenote estimates Germany's chance of reaching the semi-finals at 79%.

Germany's chance of winning Euro 2022 has improved from 11% to 20% after the Germans won a tricky group and were then paired with surprise team Austria in this round.

  7. Postpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

Germany have won 15 of their last 16 games beyond the group stage at the Women’s Euros, a run which dates back to 1995.

That one defeat, however, came in their most recent Euros quarter-final - with Denmark beating them 2-1 five years ago.

  8. 'They remind you of Germany you used to play'published at 19:47 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Laura Georges
Former France international on BBC One

Germany are really strong. They remind you of the Germany you used to play. You play them but you know it's going to be really hard. They're really strong in the back, in the midfield they have young players who can connect the ball really easily and they have forwards who can score the goals. It's really impressive.

  10. Can Austria cause a major upset?published at 19:45 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Jen Beattie
Scotland defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

This is Austria's second tournament and I think they've surprised everyone both times. They got out of the group again, they're performing well and they've conceded very few goals. I hope it will be a great contest.

  12. Austria's run 'is a sensation'published at 19:41 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

Austria boss Irene Fuhrmann: "It's a sensation that we are among the top eight teams in Europe again. We have another chance to go up against one of the best teams in this tournament.

"Germany, like England, have proven how consistent they are. They haven't yet conceded a goal – it will be an incredible challenge.

"We're always very meticulous, both in the analysis of our opponent and of our own game. It's a match which we are really looking forward to, because it's new for us to play against Germany on such a big stage."

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Expecting goals? Maybe don't.

These are the two teams with the fewest goals conceded per game in Women's Euros history.

Austria have conceded an average of 0.25 goals in eight games, with Germany letting in 0.56 a game over 43 matches.

  14. Postpublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

Germany have scored at least three goals in both of their wins over Austria to date - 4-2 in October 2016 and 3-1 in October 2018.

This is their first Women's Euros meeting.

  15. 'Germany quietly going about business'published at 19:35 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC One

It's really surprising that the Germans haven't been spoken about going into a major tournament, a team that have won it eight times. This team would like to go under the radar and they've been quietly going about their business so far.

  16. Postpublished at 19:34 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

The BBC pundits enjoyed England's win over Spain last night.

  17. Postpublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

This is only Austria's second time at the Women's Euros, but they have reached the knockout stages both times.

In 2017 they got into the semi-finals.

They have only lost one of their eight matches in the competition - and only conceded two goals.

  18. 'Germany can go all the way'published at 19:30 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Raphael Honigstein
German football journalist on BBC Radio 5 Live

What has changed since this tournament began is that Germany look at themselves and think they don't have to fear anyone. With this team, this togetherness, the depth we also have especially in forward positions, we can go all the way.

  19. Postpublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

Germany have happy memories of playing at the Brentford Community Stadium, tonight's venue.

They beat Denmark 4-0 and Spain 2-0 here in the group stages.

  20. 'We feel very at home here'published at 19:25 British Summer Time 21 July 2022

    Germany v Austria (20:00 BST)

Germany boss Martina Voss-Tecklenburg: "It makes no difference to us [facing rivals Austria]. We could be facing Norway, Sweden, Austria or the Netherlands, who are all neighbours of ours as well.

"It's a quarter-final at the Euros, and every opponent is deservedly here. It's more the media that are pushing this and drawing these comparisons, which is part of the game. But it has no impact on us.

"We need to play our game. We can't be afraid of failure, instead we need the courage to win and to show our quality. We feel very at home here, as we've proven. We have a big chance to reach the semi-finals, which wasn't a given heading into this Euros."
