England survive. Just. Annnnnnd breathe.

Germany look to capitalise on this little period of discontent.

It is all England; you can see with their shape. They've pushed Fran Kirby up to press high because they know they've got Germany where they want them.

And now Ellen White is booked, possibly for dissent after she is adjudged to have fouled a German player in her own half. Fair to say those two recent decisions by the ref have not gone down well at Wembley.

England have had a good 20 minutes. They are controlling the game, pressing well when they lose the ball and are a threat in possession. The last three corners have all been aimed at Lucy Bronze too. A tactic?

Really? A yellow card?! Georgia Stanway stops Sara Dabritz with a late tackle and gets the game's first booking. We've seen worse than that, though.

Roberto: I’m all for letting the game flow, but some of these tackles are deliberate and cynical and deserving of yellow

England are certainly on top at the moment. Germany are having to work extremely hard to stop Lauren Hemp and Beth Mead weaving some mayhem.

It's great to see England starting this way. In a couple of games they've had a lapse of concentration. Sweden should have made them pay.

Lucy Bronze was the target at the back post. She couldn't quite get the pace or angle on it.

Merle Frohms does really well under pressure from Ellen White to push the ball aside after England go deep with the corner. She then stands firm to save Lucy Bronze's header.

England sense a moment, though. They are turning the screw.

It does indeed go into the box and is glanced over the bar by a German head. Corner to England.
