Georgia Stanway is dumped on the turf as Germany continue to charge at the England players. If the Lionesses can move the ball quickly they can certainly pull this German side out of position.

Leah Williamson barely goes to ground. There's no last-ditch anything. She's very clever with her positioning.
She lets Millie Bright get tight and do the dirty defending.
England 0-0 Germany
Lucy Bronze is there. She rises highest to head away the Germany corner.
It releases England, but Lauren Hemp is tackled just as she looked to have broken away.

I was intrigued to see how England would set-up, particularly after Alex Popp's late withdrawal. She is so dangerous in the six-yard area so I thought Millie Bright might occupy that area a bit more to keep her out of the game, therefore space on the edge of the box could open up for Germany. They have had a few chances from that area in the opening 13 minutes.

Rachel Daly is required to get in a block now, to stop Svenja Huth's cross reaching the box. It is a German corner, though.

You don't want England players backing off and giving German players licence to pull the trigger.
England 0-0 Germany
It has been an even opening. Both teams have had chances to score. Germany perhaps looking a bit calmer on the ball.
Sara Dabritz goes for goal again, this time from range, but misses the target.

It has been positive for England, you know Germany are good in transition, but they are tracking their runners..

Big block from Lucy Bronze!
She positions herself superbly to stop Sara Dabritz's shot testing the diving Mary Earps.

The referee has let a lot go so far. I think that is a good and a bad thing; there have been a few feisty challenges.

A positive start from England. They were rattled [early on] against Sweden.
Beth Mead is back for business.
England 0-0 Germany
The flag is up as Beth Mead breaks down the left to gather a fine pass. It means her eventual low shot would not have counted, even had she found the net.
Further signs of England's positivity, though, and the threat of the winger from Whitby.
England 0-0 Germany
Germany try to play Jule Brand in down the left but the pass in front of her is a bit too strong. She's one England will need to watch. Quick and direct.

This is a European Championship final. Of course Ellen White will leave her mark on Merle Frohms. No need to react from the goalkeeper. That's what White is all about.

Dom: Following the final from the Budapest to Split sleeper train with my football-mad seven year-old daughter, Heidi. Come on Lionesses!!
England 0-0 Germany
Germany defend the first corner really well. England come again and swing a cross under the German crossbar that keeper Frohms claims on the bounce. Ellen White digs a shoulder in. Let her know you're there.

Very aggressive start from Germany. Lauren Hemp thought she had space to run down the left, but such are the recovery runs from the German players.
One of the questions was where Svenja Huth would start. She's on the right, up against Rachel Daly. That'll be a key battle.
England 0-0 Germany
That German high-pressing game is in full swing already.
Rachel Daly is quickly closed down by two players and sent to the turf. No foul. Huge boos from the home fans, who are taking no prisoners.

From watching previous games, I always thought England would need to ride out a five-minute onslaught.
We saw Fran Kirby do that against Sweden, at her best. She looks in a similar mood at Wembley today.
