    Tottenham 1-0 Norwich

Eric Dier sprays a ball into the left corner looking for Ryan Sessegnon and Norwich defender Max Aarons can only turn it behind for a corner.

Right, let's get back on the horse. Just the two goals to show for everyone's efforts so far. Hopefully, we'll get a bit more excitement and drama and in the next 45 minutes.

Little stat for you... Manchester United had 13 total attempts in the first half against Palace, just as many as in their last two Premier League games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer combined.

    Tottenham 1-0 Norwich

Norwich City have failed to score a first-half goal in 11 of their 15 games, only Crystal Palace and Wolves (both 12) have failed to score more often in the Premier League this season.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have won all five of the games in which they have led at the break in the league this term.

Chris: Moura’s wonder strike aside. That was pretty average stuff from Spurs. No press, no creativity and 39% possession against the league’s bottom side at home. Work to do.

Rashford has stretched the defence and given space for everybody else. So many players have space behind him.

It's okay doing it for 45 minutes, can they go beyond?

That's what Liverpool do, they stretch teams all the time.

Darren: Great stuff by united, FINALLY. High press, good shape, good pressure, slick passing, quick.... however we still need an out and out striker in January!

Ashwin: Where are the McTominay & Fred detractors?

  9. The other five German bosses...published at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2021

Before these games I ask you who the five Germans other than Ralf Rangnick are to manage in the Premier League? Here you go...

Felix Magath, Jurgen Klopp, Jan Siewert, Daniel Farke and Thomas Tuchel.

I'm going to guess that the stats company that provided us with this classes David Wagner as American. But I'll allow him as an alternative!

Bonus fact: none of the previous five won their opening Premier League match in charge.

It's been so good from United. If Palace were to have scored, I still think these Manchester United fans would have still applauded this team off the pitch.

A great 45 minutes. Can they do it again for another 45, how about 90 minutes?

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2021

    Leeds 1-0 Brentford

Advantage to Leeds thanks to Tyler Roberts' goal. They've been the better side, but it's not been a thriller.

Left foot, he just needs to get it on target and he scores.

It sums up United's half. They win the ball back high up but can't quite find the goal.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Norwich

That's the break. Lucas Moura's wonder goal the difference in north London.

Plenty of promise but nothing realised yet. Credit to Palace, who have dug in and held firm.

    Chance! A good one.

Diogo Dalot cuts inside and manages to keep possession after a Palace tackle. He can see the spot he wants to hit - the far top corner - but gets it wrong and sends his shot wide.

  16. Postpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Norwich

Half a chance for Brandon Williams, who arrives on the edge of the box to meet Max Aarons' deep delivery on the half-volley but he can only guide it high over the crossbar. A tricky one to deal with, that.

  17. Postpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2021

    Man Utd 0-0 Crystal Palace

Palace again do a fine jo of dealing with a potentially tricky situation. They win the first header following Alex Telles' cross and then Cheikhou Kouyate completes the clearance. Half-time approaching.

The amount of comments on here saying "it's just Palace" a month ago we'd be dead and buried.. even if we lose this game, I'd still be happy with this first half so far.

  19. Postpublished at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2021

    Man Utd 0-0 Crystal Palace

The game has fallen into a bit of lull now. Palace have done a very good job of steadying the ship. At one point, it looked only a matter of time until United scored.

  20. Postpublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Norwich

Ben Davies has the freedom to get forward on the left of Tottenham's back three and he drives into space before fizzing into a ball into the box.

Son Heung-min gets to it but his effort is deflected wide for a corner.
