The battle for Premier League points is paramount this lunchtime but Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has used his programme notes to look ahead to Monday's draw for the last-16 of the Champions League.

City have qualified as group winners despite losing two group games and Guardiola's side are regarded as one of the favourites for the competition.

"No matter who we get in the draw, it will be a beautiful occasion," he said.

"Only the very best teams are still there. Let's see if we can arrive at that stage in our best condition possible.

"If we do, we have a good chance of going through to the quarter-finals."

City have six potential opponents; Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Benfica, RB Salzburg, Sporting Lisbon and Villarreal.

Aston Villa travel to take on Liverpool at 3pm but Anfield promises to be busy earlier than usual today.

Local hero Steven Gerrard - who made 710 appearances for the club - is returning but this time cheering on the opposition.

He will get a warm welcome but if Villa put a dent in Liverpool's title challenge, Gerrard might not be given such a warm farewell.
