Nathan: Man United looking awful. I don’t think Rangnick will make a lot of difference, players just aren’t good enough. Look like creating absolutely zilch and look threatened every time Newcastle attack. Awful.
Drew: Don't know whether I am disappointed, angry or sad but I thought Ralf would mix things up a bit instead we have the same 11, some of whom are not good enough, others who are lazy and still others who are so out of form.

Joelinton is playing in his best position. He's a player who drives from midfield, using his power and pace.
When he first came to Newcastle he showed up well in that position. This is a formation that suits him well.

Joelinton gets treatment after hurting himself while chasing Marcus Rashford a couple of minutes ago. He's fine to continue though.

I'd take Saint Maximin all day at [Manchester] United. Fantastic dribbler of the ball. Leaps and bounds ahead of the outgoing Martial.
Mark, Manchester
Rashford must be incredible in training to keep being picked to start. Has been awful for a long time now. Rangnick has to drop him.

Manchester United have a corner, but they haven't scored a set-piece goal in the league all season. Martin Dubravka deals with Alex Telles' cross.

Cristiano Ronaldo is inches away from controlling a dinked ball into the box. He's still moaning about the free-kick he didn't get.

The Armchair Football Fan: Yeah it's pretty dreadful from Varane and Maguire's cover wasn't strong, but that is exactly what ASM needs to do much more of. Make a decision, execute, top corner. Excellent forward play.
Lewis Chapman: If Saint Maximin misses that would that have been a penalty because Maguire doesn't even try to defend and just shoves him over. How people can defend him is just bizarre, nowhere near the required level.

Cristiano Ronaldo goes down in a heap after a challenge but the referee tells him to get up.
He stays down while Newcastle attack... then gets up as his team win the ball back. The home fans boo.

Jonjo Shelvey gets away with one as Newcastle try to play out from the back and Scott McTominay squeezes him just outside the box. Shelvey just gets it away in time.

The biggest worry at the moment for Rangnick is you build your team from the back but both centre-halves, Maguire and Varane, have both made bad mistakes already.
Newcastle 1-0 Man Utd
It's all United, Newcastle United.
The ball comes to Joelinton 25 yards out and his first-time effort curls just wide. David de Gea was scrambling.
Newcastle 1-0 Man Utd
Newcastle will only be in the relegation zone on goal difference if they win this. Score another 12 goals and they'll be out of the bottom three.

If there’s one player in black and white you don’t want to give it to, it’s Allan Saint-Maximin. He went past three players and it’s a brilliant goal.
The man at fault is Varane, he is too slow on the ball and doesn’t get back quick enough.
It was a magnificent finish into the far corner.
Newcastle 1-0 Man Utd
They're almost in again but Allan Saint-Maximin's ball over the top is just too far for Callum Wilson, who can't keep it down with his high boot.
St James' Park is rocking.
Allan Saint-Maximin
Oh my. Newcastle United take the lead.
Raphael Varane loses the ball to Sean Longstaff in midfield and the Newcastle midfielder finds Allan Saint-Maximin.
ASM cuts inside a couple of defenders, including Harry Maguire, and just as it looks as if he might lose his footing he places the ball in the far corner from the edge of the box.

Diogo Dalot has space to ping a cross in this time but there's no Manchester United striker in there and Martin Dubravka catches.

I know what you're wondering.
When was the last time Newcastle won a Premier League game after making six changes from their last match.
It was in 1995 against Nottingham Forest.
