Fred sends Mason Greenwood away down the flank and the forward charges into the Aston Villa box. The angle for the shot is tight but Greenwood only just places his effort the wrong side of the far post.

A let off for Aston Villa as Matty Cash's poor clearance is straight to Anthony Elanga, who takes a couple of touches on the edge of the area before shooting wide.

Lucas Digne continues to impress as he finds himself in space on the left. He goes for goal but drives his shot into the sidenetting.

Nevertheless, Aston Villa are turning up the pressure on the visitors.

Manchester United are under a bit of pressure now as Aston Villa come forward again. They ping a few crosses into the box but the United defence are able to deal with them.

Ollie Watkins has the ball stabbed away from his feet by Bruno Fernandes, who reacts angrily as Watkins then tries to hurry him to his feet.

Another good save by David de Gea as Jacob Ramsey exchanges passes with Morgan Sanson before letting fly with a low effort that De Gea keeps out.

Kortney Hause scored the winner at Old Trafford so he will relish coming on here for Aston Villa.

The home side will be looking to regain the momentum they had at the end of the first half.

Anthony Elanga produces another good run to get past a not-yet-up-to-speed Kortney Hause and into the box. He shoots towards the near post but Emi Martinez has it covered.

Bruno Fernandes is straight into the referee's book at the start of the second half as he goes in recklessly on Morgan Sanson.

As expected Ezri Konsa can't continue after picking up that injury towards the end of the first half so Kortney Hause comes out in his place for the second half.

Q: Could Richarlison have played from start?

"Not today, he has had a couple of months without training and you could see him and Mina coming back so the team is quite a bit stronger. He has had just one training session, today to play 45 minutes was really good.

"I am really disappointed because we are working so hard, we came to fix issues, we are doing things little by little that are good for the future, bringing in and improving players but the reality is we have to win on the pitch. We have two games in hand but that does not change too much if we do not learn or make less mistakes. We will continue working hard and try to do our best."
