Sho: As usual the second half drop off from United. Can't ever get a 90 minute performance out of these players.

Peter: Fred is chasing shadows all game. Donny van de Beek must be asking, "what do I have to do to get into this team?"

    This is fabulous to watch.

Lots of chances for Villa, United looking dangerous on the counter.

Both sets of fans are really into this game as well and making loads of noise.

I am glad this one got played.

David: In an otherwise indifferent season David de Gea has been Man U's shining light. And he's had to be, given his side's suspect defence.

Amrul: Even when winning de Gea is our man of the match... Against Aston Villa!!!

    Philippe Coutinho is warming up.

On the bench alongside him is Kaine Kesler Hayden, who last week was playing for Swindon but impressed boss Steven Gerrard in the FA Cup defeat to Manchester City and recalled him to be a part of the first team squad.

From tackling Kevin de Bruyne to sitting alongside Coutinho, quite a week for the youngster.

  20. 'I am disappointed we do not learn'published at 18:32 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2022

    Norwich 2-1 Everton

    Everton

Rafa Benitez speaking to 5 live: "I am really disappointed as we came here thinking about the win. Disappointed for the fans making a long journey here to support the team, it is difficult because we have had the same situation in the past.

"I think we were not doing badly but then conceded two goals with our own mistakes. Then you have a mountain to climb and we make things difficult for us."

Q: Is the job a mountain to climb?

"I am a professional, I am just concentrating on preparing the next training sessions and for the next games and that is it.

"I am disappointed we do not learn. We made the same mistakes in the past and continue making similar mistakes, we have worked on that but when we are on the pitch we have a little anxiety and we make these kinds of mistakes."

Q: Could Richarlison have played from start?

"Not today, he has had a couple of months without training and you could see him and Mina coming back so the team is quite a bit stronger. He has had just one training session, today to play 45 minutes was really good.

"I am really disappointed because we are working so hard, we came to fix issues, we are doing things little by little that are good for the future, bringing in and improving players but the reality is we have to win on the pitch. We have two games in hand but that does not change too much if we do not learn or make less mistakes. We will continue working hard and try to do our best."
