What I like about Scotland right now is that they're finding a way. They're getting over the line regardless of the pitch, the environment or if there are fans in the ground. In a team sport, that is such a bonus.

  5. Scotland have 97% chance of reaching play-offspublished at 16:43 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

    Moldova v Scotland (17:00)

Statisticians Gracenote suggest Scotland have a 97% chance of securing a play-off spot.

Is it just me that's worried about the other 3%?

Remember, the Scots guarantee second spot with a win in Moldova tonight.

But, if Steve Clarke's side reach the play-offs, Gracenote reckon they still only have an 18% chance of reaching Qatar.

I think Andy Robertson is a huge reason as to why there's such togetherness in the squad. He's trying to create that club atmosphere. When you have a captain and a leader like him it must be a pleasure to be around.

Scotland skipper Andy Robertson says the side "know what's at stake" in tonight's game in Moldova.

It is exactly 12 months to the day that Scotland came through that nerve-shredding penalty shootout with Serbia to book their place at Euro 2020.

A year on, we have another monumental game to contend with in Moldova tonight.

  12. Five changes from last month's Faroes winpublished at 16:29 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

    Moldova v Scotland (17:00)

From Scotland's previous starting line-up, a nervy 1-0 win in the Faroe Islands last month, it's five changes all in from Steve Clarke.

The suspended Ryan Christie and Lyndon Dykes are out that side, as well as Scott McTominay, Ryan Fraser and Grant Hanley - who are all missing with either illness or injury.

Coming in are centre-back Liam Cooper and right wing-back Nathan Patterson, as Callum McGregor comes into midfield.

The final two men coming into the side are Southampton team-mates Stuart Armstrong and Che Adams.

    Moldova v Scotland (17:00)

I'm going to assume I'm not calming any nerves. Sorry about that.

Anyway, Scotland host Denmark on Monday. Suppose they're no too bad at football. Again, just don't let it get that far. Please.

While we play out our final group game with the Danes, Israel are at home to the Faroe Islands.

Fair to say the Israelis will be favourites for that one. Praying we can smugly delete these entries come full-time.

  18. What if Scotland don't win?published at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

    Moldova v Scotland (17:00)

Yes, I've said it. It doesn't bear thinking about, but Scotland can secure a play-off spot even without victory.

Third-placed Israel kick off in Austria at 19:45 GMT. If they they don't beat the Austrians and Scotland draw, it's job done.

If Scotland lose - please, don't - Steve Clarke's men will also secure second if Israel are defeated.

Just let's hope we don't have to scroll back to this post, eh?

Just look at his wee face.

Interestingly, Billy Gilmour hasn't played a minute of football since that win in the Faroe Islands last month.

The on-loan Chelsea midfielder has struggled for minutes at Norwich City. Your guess is as good as mine...
