There are some regular starters missing but when you look at the team it is still a very strong side we’ve put out. It is, in my opinion, a very attacking team with potential for goals in there. I’m very happy with the team Steve Clarke has named.

Our man Liam McLeod has just informed listeners on Sportsound that tonight's referee Srdjan Jovanovic was the man in the middle for our humiliating 3-0 loss in Kazakhstan.

    Cheers for that, Liam.

It's just not normal to have the fear about a game against Moldova.

Would probably feel like this regardless, but I'm still recovering from that game against the Faroes last month.

'More than enough in that team'published at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

    Moldova v Scotland (17:00)

Michael: More than enough in that team to comfortably win the game.

Johnnie Sutherland: A powerful Scotland team with strength on the bench.

Marco T: Gilmour not getting regular football so surprised he's starting. He's a talent but I would have gone with Turnbull and dropped McGregor deeper.

Fair point, Marco. But surely young Billy is just too good to drop?

  10. Brown starts in fans' XIpublished at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

    Moldova v Scotland (17:00)

On the topic of team selection, the votes are in for your Scotland XI.

You have voted for Stoke City's Jacob Brown to receive a debut start on his first call-up.

Leeds United's Liam Cooper is also backed for a place in central defence.

Rangers full-back Nathan Patterson is again your choice at right-back, but how close will this be to Steve Clarke's starting line-up?

Remember, Grant Hanley, Ryan Fraser, Scott McTominay, Ryan Christie and Lyndon Dykes are all ruled out tonight.

  12. One more win, Scotlandpublished at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

    Moldova v Scotland (17:00)

Should probably start this off by saying three simple words: SCOTLAND, JUST WIN.

You should all know the score by now, but the situation is simple. If Steve Clarke's men beat Moldova tonight, a World Cup play-off place is secured.

Just three points against the world's 181st ranked Fifa nation and the job is done. We should all be feeling fine about this... shouldn't we?
