    Burnley 0-1 Man Utd

Nick Pope continues to be busy as he gets down to deny Marcus Rashford's low drive.

There's so many gaps in this Burnley defence.

The tackle from Jonjo Shelvey on Anthony Gordon, for me there is no doubt it was a red card and I can't accept that it has not been overturned to a red.

He is just not having the same influence he was having, maybe it has taken a bit out of him.

He had an excellent opening 20 minutes but has now just drifted out of it.

    Burnley 0-1 Man Utd

Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Burnley are so deep. Manchester United are moving the ball quickly, they are making Burnley defend with so many numbers, it is so hard to get out. United keep on picking up the second balls. Burnley have got to be braver and leave a couple of players in advanced positions. At the moment, it is one-way traffic.

    Burnley 0-1 Man Utd

Bruno Fernandes tries to squeeze a cheeky effort in at Nick Pope's near post but the goalkeeper is wise to it.

Manchester United need to make the most of this spell of pressure as you wouldn't fancy still being just 1-0 up going into the last 10 minutes.

Andy Rudd: Said at the time, sometimes you can’t win the ball, Shelvey has no right to go for it and flies dangerously into Gordon. I suspect on another day he could have gone for that.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

    Burnley 0-1 Man Utd

Incredible from Nick Pope as he keeps out Edinson Cavani's thumping header from close range. It was even more impressive because he was scrambling back to try and deal with the danger.

Cavani may have been offside, but Pope didn't know and had to make the save.

It's been really physical. There have been some meaty challenges from both teams. I have to admire the commitment, which is something both teams have maybe shown a lack of at times this season. Tonight both teams have given their all.

    Thoroughly watchable and eventful stuff.

We've had injuries, a possible red card and two own goals that were the exact opposite of each other.

    More like this please.

  9. Postpublished at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

    Burnley 0-1 Man Utd

Scott McTominay thinks he's at the Six Nations as he launches well over from outside the box. I mean well over.

Still, it is all Manchester United.

He might have been modelled into functional midfielder, but Joelinton remains very much Joelinton. Allan Saint-Maximin sets him up brilliantly for a strike at goal in the box, but somehow the Brazilian gets his boot stuck in the turf, falls over and sends his shot spinning into his own face.

I was here for Wout Weghorst's debut against Watford, so I have seen two hours of Burnley's new striker so far.

Fair to say he is getting used to the Premier League.

It all looks a bit quick for him at the moment.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

    West Ham 0-0 Watford

Watford making West Ham graft for it. Both sides will argue they could and probably should have scored.

If that was a foul by Pogba then surely that was a foul on Rashford!

    Chris, Bramhall

Lascelles OG off a Holgate effort, shortly followed by a Holgate OG off a Lascelles effort... surely should cancel out and stats go down as a goal scored apiece?

    Three added minutes at Newcastle.

Just the one at West Ham.

Maxwel Cornet is a lovely bit of creative spark in the Burnley attack. Forays forward from the host have been rare but Manchester United's defence is given some work to do as Cornet darts forward, he finds Dwight McNeil, who sends the ball into the box for Wout Weghorst but the visitors clear.

It deflected right into the path of Chris Wood and he is only able to deflect the ball into the path of Jordan Pickford with no real pace on it.

Everton have got a few problems now. Yerry Mina has been a big loss for them.

Talk about leading your team back from the brink.

Jamaal Lascelles looked crestfallen after his own goal, but then was punching the air in delight after that incredible exchange between himself and Mason Holgate.

Eddie Howe somehow remained cool among the carnage. Not so his assistant Jason Tindall, who let out an almighty roar after the equaliser.

This game is so mad it feels like it should be at a theme park.
