    Burnley 1-1 Man Utd

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Turf Moor

Harry Maguire didn't cover himself in glory there.

Wout Weghorst turned well inside the Manchester United half but Maguire was given the slip far too easily and from there, the hosts scented blood.

Ralf Rangnick will be frustrated on the bench. It is the same as Friday against Middlesbrough. Lots of chances, now level.

  2. goal

GOAL - West Ham 1-0 Watfordpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

    Jarrod Bowen

    Breakthrough!

It is the main man Jarrod Bowen, but it also needs a huge slice of fortune.

Bowen takes up a really good position in space and drives towards the Hornets box before unleashing a shot that deflects off Samir and trickles past Ben Foster.

    Newcastle 2-1 Everton

Everton are in a bit of a mess now. From a Jordan Pickford clearance they somehow conspire to concede a corner.

A Newcastle head meets the delivery but only sends the ball looping to Pickford.

Still a long way to go for Newcastle. They need another goal to put this match to bed.

    Jay Rodriguez (47 mins)

What a start to the second half by Burnley!

HUGE goal for the Premier League's bottom club and it is brilliant work from January signing Wout Weghorst. He brings a ball under control then slips a beaut of pass to send Jay Rodriguez through and he squeezes a shot past David de Gea.

Incidentally that's the first goal De Gea has ever conceded at Turf Moor.

    Newcastle 2-1 Everton

Newcastle's hopes are pretty much reliant on Allan Saint-Maximin aren't they?

He goes on another mazy run that ends with him driving a low cross in front of everyone else in the box.

What a blow that is for Frank Lampard to have to use his three subs in the first 58 minutes.

If anyone goes down now they are in trouble.

Watford starting to sit deeper and deeper now. West Ham seeing a lot of the ball in the middle third of the pitch.

I spent 400 million with Newcastle on Football Manager and finished second in my first season. Eddie Howe knows much more than me. I think they'll do alright.

    Alistair Magowan

No calmness from Eddie Howe this time.

Allan Saint-Maximin does a trademark run where he takes the opposition on single-handedly, chips the ball up to the back post and after a couple of ricochets, Ryan Fraser pokes in.

Howe turns to face an exultant crowd and roars "COME ON!".

    A huge goal.

    Newcastle survive!

Richarlison's free-kick hits the wall and Anthony Gordobn's follow-up is straight into the midriff of Martin Dubravka.

    Newcastle 2-1 Everton

    Neil Lennon
Former Celtic midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think Allan Saint-Maximin has a touch of the genius about him. He's got to the by-line and got the cross in in such confined quarters and it ends up being a tap-in for Ryan Fraser.

St James' Park is rocking now.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:02 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

And now Richarlison is clumsily fouled by Jamaal Lascelles on the edge of the Newcastle box. This is a real chance to have a hit.

GOAL - Newcastle 2-1 Evertonpublished at 20:59 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

    Ryan Fraser

    Huge goal!

Dele Alli is sloppy in possession, allowing Newcastle to nip in and set up an attack that ends with Allan Saint-Maximin chipping a cross for Ryan Fraser to finish off from close range.

From 1-0 down to 2-1 up!

This game is getting really tasty now. The fight in the middle of the park is great, every 50-50 is being contested, something I haven't seen from either side for some time.

  19. Postpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022
