Dan James playing in an unfamiliar position up front gave me nightmares about when David James did the same for Man City...

    Man City 0-0 Brentford

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Look how big Man City make the pitch. It is so difficult for Brentford to get tight.

  7. Postpublished at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Man City 0-0 Brentford

City are seeing plenty of the ball but are finding it difficult to make any inroads onto a solid Brentford backline.

David Raya hasn't had a save to make yet.

    Aston Villa 0-1 Leeds

Leeds are really coming at Villa now. They win a corner on the left which Raphinha will take but it's cleared on the far side of the area.

Sometimes in football you just have to hit the stand, get it into row Z. Spurs didn't, they dallied around with the ball and deserve to be 1-1. But what a finish, pinged with the outside of his foot.

    Daniel James (9 mins)

Leeds have been on top the last few minutes and this is another lovely move.

Daniel James gets it at his feet inside the box after some slick passes, he shoots it low between a defender's legs and it's in the bottom corner.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

Decent move from Leeds down the right to earn a corner. They have been a bit slow getting into the game but have settled now.

  13. goal

GOAL - Tottenham 1-1 Southamptonpublished at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Armando Broja (22 mins)

A catalogue of errors from Spurs and Southampton level.

Spurs defender Ben Davies slips deep inside his own box which begins the poor defending. The Saints recycle the ball, Davinson Sanchez's attempted clearance is a really poor one.

Eventually, Romain Perraud pulls the ball back for Armando Broja to side-foot a very smart first-time finish which flashes past Hugo Lloris.

You can't say they don't deserve it.

  14. CLOSE!published at 20:07 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Tottenham 1-0 Southampton

From the corner, Stuart Armstrong sees a ball drop out of the sky onto his right peg, but the Scot smashes his volley wide.

A real, "ARMSTRONNGGGGG!!" sort of effort but just could not find the target. Would have broken the net if he did.

James Ward-Prowse has to square it - that was a massive opportunity.

  16. CLOSE!published at 20:07 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Norwich 1-0 Crystal Palace

Milot Rashica is running the show! He's on FIRE.

He breaks from midfield, sets up Teemu Pukki again and he's free in the box to shoot first time but he doesn't!

He takes too long and two players sprint back to take it off him. Shoooooooooooooooooooot

  17. CLOSE!published at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Tottenham 1-0 Southampton

At the other end, Armando Broja almost levels immediately before James Ward-Prowse is presented with an opening from the edge of the area.

The England international says thank you very much, striking a low shot which Hugo Lloris has to fly to his right to push away.

    Tottenham 1-0 Southampton

    Jonathan Woodgate
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think it was Jan Bednarek who put it in to his own goal. Son Heung-min just got the wrong side of him and Bednarek needs to think of his position better. He can't be facing his own goal to put the ball into his own net. If he drops deeper earlier he puts that into row Z.

  19. Postpublished at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Norwich 1-0 Crystal Palace

Michael Olise plays it over the top for Jean-Philippe Mateta. He has his back to goal and tries to set-up Wilfried Zaha but there's too many defenders in the way.

  20. Postpublished at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

Matty Cash is in behind on the right as he's played onside by Diego Llorente. He drills it across the box and it's not too far away from Ollie Watkins.

    Thumbs up from the boss.
