    Newcastle 0-0 Aston Villa

It looks like a poke in the eye for Fabian Schar from Kieran Trippier.

The Newcastle defender took a heavy landing too.

Think he's Strong Enough to continue though.

    Raul Jimenez

    First blood to Wolves!

Wolves benefit from keeping an attack alive and a bit of a clanger from Hugo Lloris. Ruben Neves' shot is parried by the Spurs keeper, but his subsequent flapped hand at Leander Dendoncker's follow-up gives Raul Jimenez a chance he gobbles up. One touch and a volley home.

    Newcastle 0-0 Aston Villa

Fabian Schar is inadvertently caught in the face by team-mate - and captain - Kieran Trippier's flailing in.

I Got You Baby, says the physio when he runs on to the pitch.

    Tottenham 0-0 Wolves

Raul Jimenez tries release Daniel Podence into space down the right but his pass is too heavy. Out comes Hugo Lloris to claim. Good chance to spring a counter, that.

    Newcastle 0-0 Aston Villa

Philippe Coutinho has settled in really quickly at Aston Villa, a real class act.

Could have been playing for the opposition, of course.

  6. Postpublished at 14:02 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    Burnley 0-0 Liverpool

Virgil van Dijk immediately tests the swirling wind with a long ball forward. The ball darts one way, then the other and is miscontrolled out of play by a team-mate.

Flags waving, tifos of Joelinton and new boy Bruno Guimaeres stretching across the stand.

There's a real feel-good factor at St James' Park following the misery of the last few years.

The wind and rain is going to come into play in the way Burnley will get about Liverpool today, I am sure.

Right then, let's try and brighten up this miserable, wet, windy day with some quality Premier League football, eh?

  13. Lawro's predictionpublished at 13:56 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    Burnley v Liverpool (14:00 GMT)

    Mark LawrensonImage source, BBC Sport

    Lawro's prediction: 0-2

Watching new Burnley striker Wout Weghorst go up against his Dutch team-mate Virgil van Dijk will be interesting. Weghorst has made a decent start to life at Turf Moor but he was signed to score goals and it is a big ask for him to get off the mark in this one.

This won't be easy for Liverpool. Burnley are still bottom of the table but they have shown recently that they are up for the fight. I still think Jurgen Klopp's side will come out on top though, because we know they will create a lot of chances.

    Jeremy's prediction: 0-4

Newcastle v Aston Villa (14:00 GMT)

A stat might well be playing into the Newcastle will win this game narrative...

Aston Villa won only two of their 24 Premier League away games against Newcastle: 1-0 on 7 August 1999 (goal by Julian Joachim after the hosts had Alan Shearer sent off) and 3-0 on 2 April 2005 (a goal by Juan Pablo Angel and two penalties scored by Gareth Barry). The second of those victories was notable for the Magpies having three players sent off, including Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer for fighting each other.

Very clever on Dan Burn's debut.

    • Burnley have won just two of their 15 Premier League meetings with Liverpool (D2 L11), winning 2-0 at Turf Moor in August 2016 and 1-0 at Anfield in January last season.
    • Liverpool have won six of their seven Premier League away games against Burnley, with the exception being a 2-0 loss in August 2016. It’s their best win rate at any side they’ve faced more than twice on the road in the competition (86%).
    • Liverpool have won their past five Premier League games against the side bottom of the table by an aggregate score of 12-0. The Reds have lost two of their 10 such games under Jurgen Klopp (W7 D1), with both coming against Swansea (2-3 in January 2017, 0-1 in January 2018).
    • Burnley haven’t won a home league game on a Sunday since January 2020 (2-1 vs Leicester), with the Clarets drawing four and losing two of their six such games since. Overall, of teams to have played at least 50 Sunday games in the Premier League, Burnley have the lowest win rate on the day in the competition (17% - 10 wins from 58 games).

Mo: Right calls from Conte. Hojbjerg had to be dropped, even if it is just for a rest. Overplayed and his performances dipped. Sessengon for Reggy to mix things up. Less said about Royal the better.
