  1. Post update

Germany took the lead through Jonas Hofman but Harry Kane's late leveller from the penalty spot earned England a point.

Here's how the table stands after two games.

Have a read of Phil McNulty's report from Germany

Next up for England is a meeting against Italy at Molineux on Saturday.

Gareth Southgate and his side will have revenge on their mind.

    Until then.

  2. 'Kane is special'

    FT: Germany 1-1 England

    England

England full-back Kieran Trippier to Sky: "Harry Kane stepped up as always. He is special. I used to play with him for club and country. Fifty goals is incredible. He's a top pro. Great leader.

"It doesn't bother me where I play on the pitch. I'll always be ready if I play or don't play, left-back or right-back. I'll always be ready to do my country proud.

"Tonight is a positive result. The substitutes made a huge impact. We'll review the game and look forward to the next one."

  3. Stat attack

    FT: Germany 1-1 England

    Germany

    • Germany have scored in each of their last 22 home games in all competitions (72 goals in total), since a goalless draw with France in September 2018.
    • Germany remain unbeaten in their 11 games under Hans Dieter-Flick, though each of their last three games have finished in a 1-1 draw (W8).
    • Jonas Hofmann has scored two goals in his last three appearances for Germany, having netted just once in his first nine.
  4. Post update

    FT: Germany 1-1 England

    Leon Osman

Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Harry Kane stepped up in that crucial moment. He had a good game. He was the one brought down for the penalty. He put it in the net with real assurance.

England started the second half really slowly. Once they had to chase the game and especially once Grealish came on, they looked the team we believe they are.

They believed they were going to get the goal back. You felt they were going to get that goal. They had a coule of chances before the penalty.

  5. 'Draw is OK for both sides'

    FT: Germany 1-1 England

    Christian Falk

Bild journalist on BBC Radio 5 Live

We are disappointed because we wanted the victory so much. The match-plan of Hansi Flick was good. The players showed everything he wanted.

It doesn't matter who is on the pitch. Flick makes the team better. He makes them believe in themselves.

A draw in the end is OK for both sides.

Harry Kane didn't do his best match but at the end he was there. We're very happy we have Manuel Neuer because he's brilliant. We need a striker now. You have Harry Kane.

  6. Post update

    FT: Germany 1-1 England

Channel 4 has gone off air without bringing us any Gareth Southgate. The Bridge is on next, no Naked Attraction tonight.

  7. 'I love scoring goals'

    FT: Germany 1-1 England

    England

England skipper Harry Kane on Channel 4: "Really nice feeling [to score]. I had a couple of chances earlier, the first one was over the bar and Manuel Neuer made a good save for the second. We kept going and played our best football in the last half an hour. Good to get the goal and a shame not to nick it at the end."

On scoring his 50th England goal: "I love scoring goals, I have always loved it especially for my country. Whenever I can help the team I am glad to do that.

"It is really important to show the mentality, 1-0 behind we showed good character to get back into the game and get a result. We are playing against a very good Germany side. We still have important matches but the World Cup will be here before we know it."

  8. Post update

Well, John has spoken. We might as well all pack up and go home.

John Smith: Bellingham: quality, Grealish: quality, Bowen: quality. The rest, pretty awful. I can quite confidently say England have ZERO change of winning the World Cup and anyone who says otherwise is talking utter nonsense.

  10. 'Good comeback from England'

    FT: Germany 1-1 England

    Rob Green

Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Germany got a slight fraction of luck with their goal. It took a deflection. Pickford would have saved it.

Good comeback from England. They thought the chances had gone.

Chris Mitchell: A good point in a performance that got better with each substitution that Southgate made. Bellingham & Grealish the stand out performers and Bowen once again looked at home.

  12. England 'clung on'

    FT: Germany 1-1 England

    Rob Green

Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

They clung on in there. England stayed in the game. After the Sterling injury they fell away in the game. They clung on by the skin of their teeth, by their fingernails. Grealish changed the game when he came on, providing options.

There was a stroke of fortune with the penalty but we all know what Kane can do.

England can improve. Still work to do but a massive improvement from Saturday.

Germany played really well. They controlled the game for large portions.

  13. FULL-TIME

    Germany 1-1 England

    All over.

Still no victory for England in the Nations League but they come from behind to claim a late point against old rivals Germany.

  14. Post update

    Germany 1-1 England

A few hearts in mouths as Harry Maguire lets the ball bounce then heads it back towards Jordan Pickford, but there is enough on it and the goalkeeper gathers.

  15. Southgate not happy with Flick

    Germany 1-1 England

    Alex Howell

BBC Sport at the Allianz Arena

Gareth Southgate is raging with Hansi Flick for not telling his players to kick the ball out when Jude Bellingham was down injured. That's the most animated I think I've seen the England manager on the touchline.

  16. Post update

    Germany 1-1 England

A promising move collapses for Germany and Jude Bellingham can now receive some treatment.

  17. Post update
