    Arsenal v Brentford (15:00 GMT)

Arsenal lost 2-0 at Brentford on the opening day of the season, the first of three defeats in a row.

But they have picked things up since then and Mikel Arteta says he wants them to show they're a different team now.

This is Arsenal's first home game against Brentford since a 3-1 win in the EFL Cup in September 2018 and their last league meeting was some time before that...

Roy Hodgson has a great record against Aston Villa.

Today he can become the first manager to win a Premier League game against a specific opponent with six different clubs.

Things aren't looking good for Watford.

The Hornets are enduring the Premier League's longest current winless run, taking just two points from 11 matches since beating Manchester United 4-1 three months ago.

They can't buy a goal at the moment, in fact Roy Hodgson has yet to see his side find the net since he took the helm three games ago.

Fire a blank today and they'll equal a club top-flight record of five consecutive games without a goal, set all the way back in October 1987.

    Here's a stat for you:

Watford's five most recent Premier League away wins were under five different managers: Javi Gracia, Quique Sanchez Flores, Nigel Pearson, Xisco Munoz and Claudio Ranieri.

Will it be six under six for Roy Hodgson's side this afternoon?

  5. 'Villa need a midfielder and a goalscorer'published at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2022

Villa are doing OK. I think they are a holding midfielder short. A few more acquisitions and they'll be up there. One thing is very important for where they are trying to get to, they need a prolific goalscorer. Steven Gerrard knows the importance of creating a really competitive environment, you don't want players to be comfortable.

You need to rotate. They want to compete on every front, winning cups, so getting a holding midfielder who can win the ball and give to players in dangerous areas, it can make you a really hard team to beat.

Nico Lennon: A good point in the end. Huge credit to Matt Targett who had a brilliant game at left back and another excellent performance from Dan Burn. Onwards!

Garreth Hawkins: Good point for Newcastle that, West Ham just about did enough to earn a point.

  7. 'It shows how far we've come'published at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2022

    FT: West Ham 1-1 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Newcastle midfielder Joe Willock, speaking to BT Sport: “It’s an important point. We had two important players injured, so we had to come here and stick to our task. Everyone had to be at it for us to come away with a point.

“I thought we brought our game plan to them. We were very dominant in the first half and had moments in the second half. It shows how far we’ve come and how much the manager has instilled into us.”

On his goal: “When I saw it go in I was so delighted. It’s been a long time coming. I’m happy to score and help the team. That’s how football is – it never goes how you want it to go. I’ve tried to stick to my task and take on board what the manager wanted me to do.”

On Eddie Howe: “He’s a brilliant manager and a brilliant person. He’s a manager we all trust and we all buy into what he wants to do. We’ve got a great relationship with him. Long may it continue.”

On staying up: “That’s our objective. We’re looking up the table, not down the table. With the manager and the staff we have, we’re capable of going very far up the table.”

    Southampton v Everton (15:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Everton got the performance and the result they needed against Leeds last weekend, and that was a huge win for them.

Now their next target is to improve their form away from Goodison Park because they have won only once on the road all season, and that was back in August. Burnley are the only top-flight team to have picked up fewer points on their travels.

I wouldn't underestimate Southampton, either. They have only lost once at home in 2021-22 and are a tough nut to crack at St Mary's, as the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United have already found out.

All things considered, Everton boss Frank Lampard will probably be happier if his side just make themselves a little harder to beat.

    Prediction: 1-1

    Southampton v Everton (15:00 GMT)

Southampton could lose three successive league games against Everton for the first time since 1992.

The Saints have been beaten only once at home in the Premier League this season and are undefeated in their past eight at St Mary's.

But they could go 14 games without a clean sheet for the first time in the same Premier League campaign.

Liverpool are just a machine aren't they. Whoever they pick and whatever system they play, they just know how to get over the line.

It was a difficult game at Inter but they defended properly, had the right attitude and they scored at the right times.

    FT: West Ham 1-1 Newcastle

    James Collins
Former West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It’s the right result. The first half promised a lot. It was entertaining but the second half sort of petered out a bit.

The most exciting part of the second half was the flare-up between Jarrod Bowen and Dan Burn. Other than that it was very forgettable.
