Andy Robertson wants to be 'number one' defender for Premier League assists

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson and Tottenham boss Antonio Conte are among those featured in this week's Football Focus which starts on BBC One at 12:00 GMT.

Robertson talks about his desire to be 'number one' for Premier League assists, while Conte tells presenter Alex Scott how the pain of defeat can help his Spurs players find a "winning mentality".

Former Everton and Wales defender Ashley Williams and ex-Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha are the studio guests.

Eddie Howe has just told BT Sport that Allan Saint-Maximin picked up a knock in last weekend's win over Aston Villa.

    Nigel Reo-Coker
Former West Ham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

If West Ham are serious about breaking into the top four you need to have strength in depth. You need to have a bigger squad. In January they should have gone out there, splashed the cash, and backed David Moyes.

  4. Race for fourth: 'Hammers don't have big squad'published at 11:43 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2022

West Ham v Newcastle (12:30 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    Former Liverpool defender

The race for fourth place in the Premier League is wide open, with no-one making a convincing case that it is theirs for keeps this season - so who will grab the final Champions League qualification spot?

Arsenal have got games in hand but I just feel that sometimes, when the pressure is on them, they cave in a bit.

Tottenham are losing games and losing ground, and the problem for West Ham is that they don't have the biggest squad. Wolves are outsiders too, because of their lack of goals.

The top three will stay clear and I just think that, by hook or by crook, Manchester United are going to get fourth place. They are still picking up points even if the way they are playing is totally unconvincing at the moment.

West Ham v Newcastle (12:30 GMT)

    Alistair Magowan
    BBC Sport

Newcastle were forced to take a coach rather than fly to London for Saturday's early game at West Ham because of Storm Eunice.

The club were due to leave Newcastle airport on Friday afternoon but had already made contingency plans after high winds were forecast.

A flight from Newcastle airport to London Stansted usually takes about one hour, whereas a coach journey is close to five hours without delays.

Kurt Zouma starts for West Ham as David Moyes makes three changes to the side that grabbed a late draw at Leicester.

Zouma, who pulled out during the warm-up of that one, replaces Issa Diop, while Ryan Fredericks comes in for Vladimir Coufal and Saïd Benrahma starts instead of Manuel Lanzini.

West Ham XI: Fabianski, Fredericks, Zouma, Dawson, Cresswell, Rice, Soucek, Fornals, Benrahma, Bowen, Antonio.

Newcastle are without arguably their two most important players with Kieran Trippier and Allan Saint-Maximin both injured.

Eddie Howe makes three changes, with Emile Krafth and Jacob Murphy coming in for those two while Matt Targett returns in place of Javier Manquillo after being ineliegible to face parent club Aston Villa last weekend.

Newcastle XI: Dubravka, Krafth, Schar, Burn, Targett, Willock, Shelvey, Joelinton, Murphy, Fraser, Wood.

Our first match is at London Stadium where Newcastle are looking to put more daylight between themselves and the bottom three.

Eddie Howe's side have already endured an eventful 24 hours getting to the capital.

They were due to fly to London but took the bus in the end. Probably a wise move, given the conditions.

Storm Eunice has certainly made her presence felt but the good news is we have football - and lots of it.

Two London derbies, the top three are all in action while the bottom three are all away.

  16. Stormy seasonpublished at 11:14 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2022

Newcastle's season has been about as chaotic as their journey down to London, where plans for a one hour flight were quickly replaced by a coach journey of several hours due to the weather.

Victory against West Ham and the Magpies - who have won their last three after being in big trouble for most of the season - will be seven points clear of relegation.
