    West Ham 1-1 Newcastle

Newcastle have had 14 attempts. I can remember the days last season when they struggled to create a couple of chances in 90 minutes. This is a very different Newcastle.

To think we are holding a 'top six' side away from home when we couldn't buy a win last year is incredible.

  3. CLOSE!published at 66 mins

    West Ham 1-1 Newcastle

Lovely stuff by Joe Willock who has played with confidence and zest.

He creates space for himself just outside the box and tries to bend it beyond Lukasz Fabianski. Narrowly wide but that was the best moment of the second half.

    West Ham 1-1 Newcastle

Both players are back on their feet and the game resumes. A headed clearance by Ryan Fraser earns the Hammers a throw-in deep inside Newcastle's half. Not a lot has happened this half but Newcastle are good value for a point right now.

    West Ham 1-1 Newcastle

A clash of heads between Joelinton and Ben Johnson inside the West Ham box. The referee has rightly stopped the game. That gives David Moyes a chance to give some instructions to Jarrod Bowen.

Quin: I'm very split right now. I want Newcastle to do well and not get relegated, but I also want the Hammers to secure top four instead of Arsenal, United or Spurs.

Another substitution coming up for the Hammers?

Newcastle look increasingly solid and confident. Jacob Murphy, who has covered some ground this afternoon, takes on Tomas Soucek and wins a corner.

Not a lot happening. I might give Big Jet TV a watch until this bursts back into life.

At last Newcastle are able to get into West Ham's half but Matt Targett's cross does not reach Chris Wood. It's all gone a bit scrappy.

The magic spray does its work on Targett who is fine to carry on. Newcastle have hardly ventured outside their own half since the re-start.

Jarrod Bowen tries to turn inside the box but he cannot get his shot away. Instead he catches Matt Targett who needs treatment.

The Hammers have come flying out of the blocks. They win a corner and Declan Rice tees-up Aaron Creswell who drills it low towards the net. Newcastle survive.

Early bird, and all that. Hello from N7, where Storm Eunice may have passed but it’s still wet, blowy and, quite frankly, miserable.

Arsenal fans hoping their team can lift the mood as they host Brentford and look to build on their win at Wolves last weekend.

The Gunners have received four red cards and scored just two goals in 2022, so lots of talk about “discipline” amongst the early-arriving fans.

As for Brentford, their supporters were keen to point out on the tube here, that they’re on for a historic double.

Win today and they will become the first promoted side to complete a Premier League double over Arsenal since Blackburn Rovers in 1992-93.
