Loving all the anger against Arsenal recently. It's made the supporters join together in unison against external 'noise' - very healthy for the fan base and you'll hear a raucous Emirates tonight for sure!

Tom McCarron: Unfortunately, I can't see anything but Arsenal progressing to the final tonight. I don't think we'll score more than one and we will definitely concede so their home advantage will be too much.

Hope AC/DC are on royalties from football grounds around the world.

"Thunderstruck" seems to be the song of choice for major tournaments and also at so many grounds to build up the pre-match atmosphere.

Anfield is one of many and we've just had a good, loud blast here at Emirates Stadium,

I thought Mikel Arteta's stance on Aubameyang was the right one. I think he set a good example to the fantastic young players in the Arsenal dressing room. Aubameyang crossed the line and he had to show his authority. Results have been kind so everything is win-win for the manager. Now it leaves Aubameyang thinking 'have I got a future at Arsenal? I can't see a way back for him.

  15. 'We didn't have anyone else'published at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January 2022

    Arsenal v Liverpool (19:45 GMT)

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta talking to Sky Sports:

"There are players who haven't had any training sessions, we are pushing the players. We didn't have anyone else.

"Thomas Partey has really shown his commitment, he landed at midtable and wanted to be involved."

    Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp:

"For us Kaide Gordon is a right winger, he did exceptionally well in training. Caoimhin Kelleher has played all the time in the competition, just not last time because we needed to give Alisson some game.

"Arsenal have a very offensive line up. Both teams want to win, we have to be positive and offensive."

Striker Aubameyang has not played for the Gunners since 6 December and was stripped of the club captaincy after a disciplinary breach the following week.

There were a few question marks on whether tonight's game would go ahead, following Arsenal's postponement at the weekend.

Mikel Arteta says the club "did the right thing" when requesting the postponement of last weekend's north London derby against Tottenham.

Sunday's game was called off because Arsenal did not have enough players.

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte called the decision "strange" and said matches should only be called off because of Covid-19 cases and not for injuries or players on international duty.

"We will defend our club with teeth and nails," said Arteta.

Arteta added: "We're not going to get anybody damaging our name or trying to lie about things that haven't occurred.

"We will make mistakes, we will put our hands up but we will defend our club in a really strong way.

"We didn't have the players necessary to put out a squad available to compete in a Premier League match, that is 100% guaranteed."
