    Happiness for Huddersfield.

    Despair for Derby.

    Cheer for Cardiff.

And more turmoil for the Tykes.

It's been a big night at both ends of the Championship - thanks for joining us, we hope you've enjoyed our live text coverage and we'll see you next time.

Cardiff's victory at Barnsley has eased their relegation worries - the Bluebirds are now nine points clear of danger.

Defeat, however, leaves the Tykes rock-bottom and they are looking increasingly doomed. There's still time, of course, but Barnsley have won just twice all season.

A disappointing night for Derby too and they remain 23rd, but Wayne Rooney will draw plenty of positives from the gumption his side showed after playing virtually the entire game at Huddersfield with 10 men following Richard Stearman's early dismissal.

Championship top six.Image source, BBC Sport

Well, Huddersfield must be in dreamland at the moment.

That's 10 Championship games unbeaten now for the Terriers and they are up to fifth in the table.

Admittedly they have played a game or two more than the rest of the top six but Carlos Corberan and co will not care a jot about that.

Barnsley sub Aaron Leya Iseka has the ball in the net but it's ruled off for offside right at the death!

The home side did finally show some urgency but all in all it's another turgid display which sees them rooted to the bottom.

For Steve Morison's Cardiff, it's back to back wins and they are now nine points clear of the drop zone thanks to that second-half Uche Ikpeazu winner.

    Barnsley 0-1 Cardiff

Aaron Leya Iseka heads an Andre Bassi free-kick wide for Barnsley.

That could well be the home side's last hope of salvaging anything.

A big win for Huddersfield as they climb to fifth in the Championship.

What a season the Terriers are having.

You have to feel for Derby, however - the Rams put so much effort into the game after Richard Stearman's early red card, only to end up empty-handed.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 90+3 mins

    Huddersfield 2-0 Derby

Nathan Byrne gets a yellow card for hacking down Lewis O'Brien to halt a Huddersfield break.

  10. INJURY TIMEpublished at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2022

    Barnsley 0-1 Cardiff

Five minutes of stoppage time have been added at Oakwell.

Barnsley need to throw absolutely everything at this.

    Huddersfield 2-0 Derby

Twice in recent weeks, Derby have scored two late goals to draw games 2-2.

    Not happening here though.

Halfway through two minutes of added time.

  12. Postpublished at 89 mins

    Huddersfield 2-0 Derby

More injury worries for Derby as Krystian Bielik crumples to the floor.

He's back up after some treatment though.

  13. Postpublished at 21:35 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2022

    Barnsley 0-1 Cardiff

The hosts are struggling to mount a meaningful response to falling behind.

They've been restricted to long-range efforts, none of which have tested Cardiff keeper Alex Smithies.

At the other end, Will Vaulks volleys narrowly wide as the Bluebirds look to kill the game off.

    Huddersfield 2-0 Derby

    Formalities being played out here.

The home crowd, audibly frustrated for much of this game, are in fine voice now.

They're off to Wembley apparently - hey lads, check the table: you're only five points off automatic promotion! Who needs the play-offs?

  15. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 21:25 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2022

    Barnsley 0-1 Cardiff

Final rolls of the dice for Barnsley.

Aaron Leya Iseka and new-boy Andre Bassi are thrown on in place of Liam Kitching and Josh Benson.

Defeat would be a cruel blow to the Tykes' survival hopes.

    Jordan Rhodes (79 mins)

    Game over now.

Ryan Allsop parries from Danny Ward but the ball rebounds to Jordan Rhodes and the substitute tucks home the first goal of his second spell with the Terriers.

It's very harsh on Derby, who battled so manfully for more than an hour with 10 men.

  17. goal

    Duane Holmes (75 mins)

    Heartbreak for Derby.

It's their former player Duane Holmes too - but that's not even the worst of it.

The winger lets fly from 25 yards but the shot immediately takes a wicked deflection off Krystian Bielik - think Paul Parker in World Cup '90 you older readers - and loops over Ryan Allsop.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 73 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Derby

Here comes Jordan Rhodes as predicted, on for Jonathan Hogg.

Can the predatory striker find the breakthrough?

    Uche Ikpeazu (71 mins)

    Cardiff celebrateImage source, PA Media

Nine minutes after coming on for his Cardiff debut, Uche Ikpeazu scores what could prove to be a massive goal for the Bluebirds!

In many ways it's a goal befitting of the game.

The on-loan Boro striker bullies Barnsley defenders Michal Helik and Mads Juel Andersen before his scuffed shot trickles in.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Derby

Well now, just as I praised Festy Ebosele, he's perhaps still lucky to be on the pitch.

It's a clumsy challenge on Lewis O'Brien at best and Ebosele, booked in the first half, was sweating for a moment.

If he hadn't already been carded, that was a booking.
