    Huddersfield 0-0 Derby

Corner to Derby after a lovely run from Festy Ebosele, who has really been one of the visitors' bright sparks.

Wonder if the Rams are beginning to think they can nick this?

Not with a delivery like that, straight into Lee Nicholls' arms from Nathan Byrne.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2022

    Barnsley 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff midfielder Tommy Doyle is next in the book.

This hasn't been an easy watch, and you can see why both teams find themselves in a relegation dogfight.

Little to report at the John Smith's Stadium where the home crowd are getting increasingly frustrated.

Will Carlos Corberan turn to veteran striker Jordan Rhodes?

  4. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2022

    Barnsley 0-0 Cardiff

Barnsley midfielder Domingos Quina lasts an hour on an impressive-enough debut, with Carlton Morris on in his place.

The visitors bring on on-loan Boro striker Uche Ikpeazu for Alfie Doughty, who appears to be injured.

Not sure if it's a coincidence or not but Louie Sibley is taken off after fluffing that chance.

He's replaced by another 20-year-old, defender Eiran Cashin.

They've been down to 10 men for an hour now, Derby, but Sibley has had the best two chances of the game.

    What a let-off for Huddersfield.

Louie Sibley capitalises on a mix-up at the back to close in on goal but takes a heavy touch with only keeper Lee Nicholls to beat and the Huddersfield stopper slides in to collect the ball.

Sibley has his head in his hands, he knows what a big opening that was.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:04 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2022

    Barnsley 0-0 Cardiff

There's also a change at Oakwell.

Twenty-year-old forward Isaak Davies comes on for Cardiff, in place of the ineffectual Max Watters.

The Bluebirds look to counter but Barnsley defender Mads Juel Andersen hold them up and is yellow-carded.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 56 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Derby

Carlos Corberan brings off Ollie Turton, with Pipa joining the fray.

Both teams made subs at the break too by the way - deadline-day signing Carel Eiting on for Matty Pearson for Huddersfield, while Derby replaced striker Luke Plange with defender Krystian Bielik.

I wish there was more to report from Oakwell.

Barnsley are having most of the ball, but aren't doing much with it.

Cardiff are going more direct, but Max Watters and Jordan Hugill are struggling to make the ball stick in attack.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Derby

Derby's makeshift back-line are defending balls into their box heroically.

Lee Buchanan, partnering Curtis Davies at centre-half after Richard Stearman's red card, bullets a centre clear with his head.

And then another moments later. He's fouled in the process. Keeper Ryan Allsop won't be rushing to take the free-kick.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Derby

Delightful touch from Festy Ebosele to bring down a ball out of the sky - but his pass to Derby skipper Tom Lawrence is not so assured, sadly.

Nonetheless, the Rams have started the second half the brighter of the two teams despite Richard Stearman's third-minute dismissal.

Positive start to the second half from 10-man Derby as they win back-to-back corners - but both come to nothing.

Off we go again in our two games.

Can bottom side Barnsley find that quality in the final third to make the difference against Cardiff?

Will 10-man Derby be able to hold out at Huddersfield?

Both of those questions will be answered in the next 45 minutes or so.

Right then, the fans are re-taking their seats following half-time refreshments and the players are re-joining us too.

    Well, Huddersfield are, anyway.

Derby are making them wait a bit here.

Fair to say that Wayne Rooney was not a stranger to the odd red card during his playing days (wink, wink).

What pearls of wisdom will he be imparting to his Derby side during the half-time team-talk?

  16. Three in for Terriers - but more outs for Ramspublished at 20:42 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2022

Huddersfield and Derby are two clubs that enjoyed contrasting transfer deadline days on Monday.

The Terriers re-signed former midfielder Carel Eiting to boost their ranks and brought in keeper Jamal Blackman as well as Chelsea midfielder Tino Anjorin, on loan, although the latter is currently injured.

Derby, unable to sign players during January due to an EFL transfer embargo, lost striker Luke Plange to Crystal Palace - although he will remain on loan at Pride Park for the rest of the season.

That added to a lengthy list of January departures, with Wayne Rooney bemoaning the vultures that have circled.

Right then, a bit of half-time reading for you.

We've alluded to Derby's plight and 21-point deduction a few times this evening - but what's it all about?

Well, the club remains in financial peril and is in danger of folding unless new owners are found by the Rams' administrators.

Tired of the whole saga, Derby fans staged a protest before Sunday's game against Birmingham at Pride Park - for more on that and the whole sorry situation, read Simon Stone's story here.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2022

    Barnsley 0-0 Cardiff

Fair to say bottom of the table Barnsley have edged things so far.

They'll be disappointed not to have a goal for their efforts, while 20th-placed Cardiff don't seem to have taken Sunday's improved performance into this game.

Must do better, Huddersfield will think.

The Terriers trying to make something happen approaching half-time.

But Lee Buchanan gets in front of Sorba Thomas during a run down the right and a slight nudge sends the Derby man down. Called 'buying a free-kick' that.
