Jule Brand is wasting no time in throwing herself into the action.

There was plenty of talk before the game about how wary England need be of the 19-year-old.

England need to get the ball out quicker to Lauren Hemp and Fran Kirby. The service to them has been a little slow. When Germany press, England can get the ball out to them a lot quicker.

    HT: England 1-1 Germany

It will be a big second half for England.

They have 45 minutes to overcome Germany on English soil for the first time in their history. The reward if they can do that will be the Arnold Clark Cup.

Both teams have emerged for the second-half, so we are just moments away from getting back under way.

  8. 'England lost their way'published at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2022

Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC radio commentary

England started the better, looked really comfortable and totally in control and then lost their way a little bit. Germany were finding a threat down that left-hand side, especially when Lucy Bronze was high up the field.

Germany have had more possession - only slightly. It's an even game. I would say the German coach would be more happy out of the two.

Both sides have had chances. Germany have probably had the better chances. I think England will be fairly pleased to go in at the break level. They are winning balls high up and pressing well but they haven't been quite as solid at the back as they were against Spain.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2022

    England 1-1 Germany

It's all square after 45 minutes.

Ellen White looks keen to get back to the changing room. She is a picture of determination.

Her goal put England ahead before Lina Magull levelled with a brilliant free-kick just before the break.

The fourth official indicates that there is going to be two minutes of injury time at the end of the half.

England will want to get to half-time in a hurry, you feel. That equaliser seems have knocked them a little.

  12. At least yellow cards don't matter...published at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2022

That is a real blow to England but there's not much you can do to stop a quality free-kick like that. It was in off the underside of the crossbar and well out of reach of Ellie Roebuck.

The good news (I'm stretching) is that the yellow cards don't matter now as it was only in a 1-0 win for England would that come into play to decide the tournament.

  13. 'Too much venom'published at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2022

    England 1-1 Germany

She is world class at that. That had pace, accuracy, wow. As soon as she hit it, it was in, because it just had too much venom on it.

It's not in the corner, so I do think Ellie Roebuck will be disappointed with that when she looks back, but let's not take anything away from it.

    Lina Magull

It's a brilliant free-kick from Lina Magull to equalise.

She gets it up and over the wall and sees it go in off the underside the crossbar. Ellie Roebuck was at full stretch but couldn't get anything on it. Superb stuff.
