Roy Hodgson has just down the touchline to the Watford dug-out.

I reckon if he was at home and his wife suggested a walk in conditions like this, he wouldn't be that keen.

But he is a football man and despite being 74 years of age, I reckon he is loving being back out there.

The rain is swirling in the air, the corner flags are bending in the wind, whoever wants this most, will win today I think.

Warm-ups done. Kick-off is less than 10 minutes away.

Not sure any of the players got "warm". They definitely got soaked.

  12. Management at Watfordpublished at 17:43 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2022

    Burnley v Watford (18:00 GMT)

Watford's last five Premier League away wins were under five different managers: Javi Gracia, Quique Sanchez Flores, Nigel Pearson, Xisco Munoz and Claudio Ranieri.

Xisco Munoz is the only Watford boss among the past 10 to have won his opening Premier League match.

Watford's average of 26 games per manager is the lowest in Premier League history among teams to have played more than two seasons.

  15. Watford's revolving doorpublished at 17:33 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2022

Watford's revolving door managerial policy is well known by now.

The club think it works, so they keep going with it.

But it failed two years ago, when the Hornets went down and the situation they are currently in is not great either.

Clearly, recruitment is not something managers get involved in at Vicarage Road - but you would have thought some kind of familiarity within the dressing room might have had a positive impact.

  16. Hodgson's managerial careerpublished at 17:30 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2022

New Watford boss Roy Hodgson is taking charge of the seventh English team in his managerial career.

The former England and Liverpool boss, 74, left Crystal Palace at the end of last season with his final match a 2-0 defeat at Anfield.

Ray Lewington, who managed Watford between 2002 and 2005, has joined as assistant, filling the same position he did under Hodgson for England and Palace.

Hodgson has been in football management for the best part of 50 years and Watford became the 17th club he has managed in eight countries, while he has also had spells in charge of the Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and Finland national sides.

It's sold out at Turf Moor today so there will hopefully be a decent atmosphere. The Burnley players are currently warming up in a 90s-inspired kit.

There's a lot going on in it. I'm 50-50 at the moment. If anyone has strong opinions on it, feel free to send them in. I'll try and find a picture in the meantime...
