  1. goal

GOAL Hearts 0-2 Celticpublished at 20:21 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Giorgos Giakoumakis

The second felt inevitable and so it's proved.

Matt O'Riley drills in a low ball from the right and Giorgos Giakoumakis guides in with a lovely unorthodox flick.

Replays show the Greek striker might've been half a yard offside, however. Goal given.

    Rangers 0-0 Livingston

Alex Lowry again is the player making things tick for Rangers.

The teenager collects the ball on the left, invites three Livingston players to come and take it from him, before cutting into the box and sending a neat ball across goal that no-one in blue can take advantage of.

  3. CLOSE!published at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Hearts 0-1 Celtic

It's all about slack from the home defence at the minute as James Forrest receives the ball on the second phase of a corner before drilling a finish the wrong side of the near-post side netting.

Celtic want a second and it feels inevitable.

  4. Postpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Hearts 0-1 Celtic

Really tidy turn from Matt O'Riley on the byeline, who then pulls the ball back for James Forrest.

The Celtic winger looks certain to double the visitors' lead but John Souttar is there again with another superb block.

  5. CLOSE!published at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Dundee United 0-0 Ross County

Another massive chance for Marc McNulty is wasted.

Alex Iacovitti dithers in possession and has the ball taken from his toes 30m out. McNulty steams to the edge of the box unchallenged, but his shot is low, tame and easy for Ashley Maynard-Brewer.

  6. Postpublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    St Johnstone 0-0 Dundee

Saints are the better side so far in a predictably scrappy game.

No chances of note at either end yet, though.

  7. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:16 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Dundee United 0-0 Ross County

Dundee United have been dominating this contest without creating a great deal of chances, but they look to have gotten away with one here.

Dylan Levitt tries to trap a ball inside his own box, and winds up controlling it with his outstretched arm. Nothing given...

  8. Van Veen squanders glorious chancepublished at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Motherwell 0-0 Hibernian

What a miss from Kevin van Veen!

From a corner, Connor Shields pokes at goal and Matt Macey parries straight to Van Veen, but the Motherwell striker completely slices his shot with the goal at his mercy.

  9. goal

GOAL Hearts 0-1 Celticpublished at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Reo Hatate

What a way to open your Celtic account!

Reo Hatate absolutely leathers one from over 25 yards and it's just too powerful for Craig Gordon.

It's not right in the top-left corner but it's hit with so much venom that the Hearts keeper can't get anything behind it.

  10. CLOSE!published at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Rangers 0-0 Livingston

The teenage midfielder Alex Lowry is looking very impressive for Rangers, and he is at the heart of the action as Rangers go close to the opening goal.

Lowry finds a pocket of space, picks out Scott Wright out wide, who drills a low shot at goal which beats the goalkeeper, but Livi have a defender back on the line to clear.

  11. Postpublished at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

A big shout of "WHEY!" from the home fans as Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis almost clears the stand with a strike from range.

Celtic are dictating but are yet to create a clear-cut chance.

  12. CLOSE!published at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Rangers 0-0 Livingston

Almost an own goal from Ayo Obileye, not that he knew much about it.

The Livingston defender takes his eye off the ball and a Rangers corner kick bounces off him and just past the post.

That slackness apart, Livingston are keeping Rangers are bay so far, with goalkeeper Max Stryjek relatively untroubled since the opening minutes.

    Ouch!published at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

A blow for the hosts as right-back Michael Smith is down with what looks like pain in his lower back.

The Northern Ireland international is coming off for Nathaniel Atkinson.

    BBC Scotland at Fir Park

Meetings at Fir Park between these two have the ability to be magical affairs. Vivid images of 6-6 epics, high-scoring encounters at the turn of the century, and even the odd floodlight generator going on fire a few years back.

So far, this one has a fair bit to go to meet those heights. Both teams are trying to play football, but the swirling wind and driving rain aren't doing their bit to facilitate total football.

Already there's a feeling the conditions may claim a pivotal assist here.

  15. Postpublished at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    St Johnstone 0-0 Dundee

Good spell of pressure for the home side.

Callum Hendry looks to pull the trigger on the edge of the box, with a timely Liam Fontaine tackle turning the ball behind.

The corner falls invitingly for Hendry, who gets his attempt at an acrobatic scissor kick horribly wrong.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

Excellent from Jota, on two occasions, who is Celtic's livewire so far.

The Portuguese winger skips by Michael Smith and forces Craig Gordon down to his right to save at the near post.

Both chances almost identical seconds apart.

  17. Postpublished at 20:00 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

Celtic winger Jota, even on his first start in almost two months, looks so sharp as he dances down the left and puts a ball in.

A bit too high for Greek striker Giorgos Giakoumakis.

  18. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Rangers 0-0 Livingston

Cedric Itten, surrounded by three Livingston shirts, falls rather theatrically to the ground inside the box, although there did appear to be contact.

Referee Don Robertson ignores his pleas for a penalty and also waves away Livingston's appeals for a yellow card for simulation.

  19. Kane replaces injured Ciftcipublished at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    St Johnstone 0-0 Dundee

It never rains but it pours in Perth.

Nightmare start for bottom club St Johnstone as Nadir Ciftci pulls up with what looks like a hamstring pull.

The striker limps off to be replaced by Chris Kane.

Moments later, Jamie McCart rises to meet a corner but his header is straight at Dundee keeper Adam Legzdins.

  20. Postpublished at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2022

    Motherwell 0-0 Hibernian

Both sides are battling the wet and windy conditions, but we're also witnessing the start of a 90-minute brawl between Motherwell striker Kevin van Veen and Hibs defender Rocky Bushiri.

It's about level on points in the early stages...
