What a beautiful goal. Little give and go and Bukayo Saka gets to the byline. It's an intelligent pullback to Martin Odegaard.

He doesn't panic, he just sets himself, takes a touch and places it in the bottom corner.

It looked as if he was offside. Nevertheless, that is the fast aggressive start Watford will have wanted.

It was a good back line of Arsenal. Very disciplined.

Craig Smith: Got a worrying feeling that this will be like the Everton away and Burnley home games for Arsenal, should have won on paper, against a weak sides, but then we fail to capitalise.

That has got the home fans out of their seats. Dennis was narrowly offside but that move has given Watford plenty of encouragement.

Drama straight from the kick-off as Emmanuel Dennis finds the net after 17 SECONDS but his celebrations are cut short by an offside flag. A warning for Arsenal who were caught out by Joao Pedro's pass.

Right, kick-off is fast approaching at Vicarage Road where both teams need the points for different reasons.

A Watford win will lift them above Burnley into 18th and level on points with 17th-placed Everton.

An Arsenal victory will take them above Manchester United - at least for a few hours - into fourth.

Games in the second half of the season are different to the first half because people have their goals, but are running out of time to achieve them. Playing against a team that is fourth bottom is different in December to March or April, because they know they have to get a result. It is not process time, it is all about the substance. As a consequence, you face a different challenge.

The exquisite agony of being a Manchester United fan these days. Win the derby and you put Liverpool in pole position for a 20th title. Lose the derby, advantage City for the title and the top 4 hopes take a battering.

It wouldn't surprise me if there is a huge show of support [for Oleksandr Zinchenko] today. Even though it's a Manchester derby, I'm sure the Man Utd fans will show that solidarity as well.

Emile Smith Rowe is going to be a big miss for Arsenal.

He's their top scorer in the Premier League this season with nine goals and is on the brink of becoming just the second Arsenal player aged 21 or under to reach double figures in a Premier League season, emulating Nicolas Anelka in 1998-99.

It won't happen today though as he is not involved.

  20. 'Managers are much more detailed now'published at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2022

I can imagine Mikel Arteta having meetings on an individual basis. I can imagine him managing his team behind him, analysing team performances, where their strengths weaknesses are and helping the likes of Bukayo Saka, [Gabriel] Martinelli, [Martin] Odegaard.

Arteta will let you be free on the pitch, but at certain times, he might give tiny little pointers about the opposition. In my day, we didn't get that many; I'd have loved to have had the detail managers are giving players now. I only had it in the last four or five years of my career. Very early on, it was just 'get the ball down and play, we are better than them'. Managers have come on, and the whole industry has come on, so much.
