Man City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports on the title race with Liverpool: "I said many times the biggest form of success for a manager is that after winning three Premier Leagues in the last four years we still run like we run and we are still there to win again.
"You can get confused and think like maybe you are what you are not. Still we are humble enough to do it again and again and be up there. After these guys have been there many years.
"We have the toughest opponent I have ever faced in my career as a manager. Fighting with them [Liverpool] and being with them for trophies and titles, it is the biggest achievement I have done in my career."

As for City, well the game everyone is eyeing on the horizon is the one at the Etihad on 10 April when Liverpool will be the visitors.
The result of that could well go a huge way to deciding the title.

Some really big fixtures coming up for Manchester United.
This month, they host Tottenham in another key game in the race for the top four and also play Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
After that they've got Leicester, Everton and Norwich before they travel to Arsenal on 23 April. That last one could be crucial.

Manchester City winger Riyad Mahez to BBC Radio 5 Live: "We are happy to win and we congratulated each other. It was a tough game and we did a good job. Pep has a big influence on me and the team; he made me improve a lot and that is why he's one of the best managers.
"I don't know if I'm a great goalscorer; I'm trying to help the team as much as I can every game. This season, I'm more efficient because of the work we do in training. I'm trying to get in the box, I'm trying to be involved everywhere, to score goals and to help the team.
"We totally controlled the second half; when we are like that, it is difficult to take us. We have confidence in our football, but we are taking it game by game. Next is Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League; we have to try and win, then we'll see."

Riyad Mahrez is having a fair old season, eh?
Only Mo Salah (27) has scored more goals in all competitions this season than the City forward (21) amongst all Premier League players.
The Algerian's two goals today took him beyond 100 combined goals (60) and assists (41) in Manchester City colours.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to Sky Sports: "The second half when they struggled to press is a consequence of the first. First half we struggled a little bit to build up, especially on the left side. The second half much better. We cannot forget United in the last eight games without defeat. The second half was one of the highest levels we have played at in years."
On United's approach: "It was so aggressive, the mentality for Ralf. Without Cristiano [Ronaldo] they can do it. We struggled to make it up. The first half we had the more chances on the counter attack. We struggled to arrive there to drop the opponent in their half. In the second, Bernardo [Silva] was more involved, the movement from everyone was excellent. We played really good. The respect I have for United - the quality. Every decision making during the game was good and that's why we won the game."
On a possible injury problem for Kevin de Bruyne: "A little bit there but I think it is not a problem. He makes an incredible effort and he is playing the minutes very well. He is back at his best. He played with pain at the beginning of the season but Kevin is at his best. He is strong. I spoke with him and he was focused on assists, but I said you have to score goals and win games. Hopefully he can continue being fit and scoring these goals."
On who he pointed to after the final whistle: "My son was there. All the games. It was nice. I said to the players, if you give them a little bit the fans are going to give everything. You know how nice it is to win and especially against United of course for our people."

More from Gary Neville on Sky Sports: "For that last 25 minutes, Man Utd were spiritless. They were walking around the pitch.
"After the third goal went in, City had 92% possession. That's unprecedented, that's unheard of and it's unforgiveable - nowhere near good enough.
"For the past two to three months, United have been plastering over the wounds, playing against sides that you don't have to be at your best to get a result. The only two teams they've played from the top eight, City and Wolves, have done them - and there's a few tough games coming up.
"The dressing room isn't broken, but it isn't far off. The evidence is there. You find out what it's like when the going gets tough and a lot of them went missing."

Man Utd boss Ralf Rangnick told BBC Sport: "I think we played a good first half. Being 2-1 down [at half-time], we could have scored one or two more.
"We caused them problems in transition and also in possession, but obviously when you concede two in the first half you have to try and equalise and we didn't. Five minutes after bringing Jesse [Lingard] and Marcus [Rashford] on, we conceded from a fantastic set-piece, which was difficult to defend.
"From then on, it was almost impossible to come back into the game against the best team in the world. After that third goal, it was a very frustrating game for us.
"When we were in possession of the ball, we also showed we could create chances but we only scored one and they scored two.
"We don't play every weekend against a team like Man City. It's not a surprise they are top of the league and also a side that regularly play in the Champions League.
"It was difficult and we knew it would be in advance. Now we have to prepare to play Tottenham. We will try to win and then prepare for Atletico Madrid in the Champions League."

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "It was really good; excellent game. United is United, eight games without defeat; we concede few chances. We played really well. Kevin [de Bruyne] is back; after the injuries, he was struggling for rhythm. But now he is scoring goals, playing with power. He is one of the top players in the world, but he still runs and works hard, I'm so proud of this guy.
"I'm not from Manchester, but I know what it means to our fans to win the derby. We should have scored more goals."

Former Liverpool and England midfielder Jamie Redknapp, speaking on Sky Sports: "Manchester City have created a team and thought about the players to make it. United have thrown money at the team and hoped to find a team. It’s not working,
"It takes time and it takes the right culture but at the moment United are a million miles off. If I was Jurgen Klopp watching that I’d be fuming,
"United didn’t even try. They did OK first half but in the second half they had no idea how to play, Rashford came on and didn’t even try to run around,. There was no idea and no structure."

More from Roy Keane in the Sky studio: "Who's running that dressing room? These guys seem more bothered about, "How am I looking? How’s my hair looking? Are my boots nice?" You leave your ego at the door when you play for Man Utd.
"I'm looking at the United fans and they're not daft. They're watching their team and seeing they're not fighting. There are no excuses.
"There will be statements, I have no doubt, over the next few days but we all know who will making them through their teams and on Twitter and all that nonsense. I don't care about any of that.
"It's what you say on the pitch that matters."

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to BBC Sport: "It was excellent from the first minute. We played really well and had to be patient in the first step.
"Ralf [Rangnick] tried to change the mentality for Man Utd to be more aggressive but we made space, especially in the second half, to play behind [Scott] McTominay and Fred.
"Football is emotions. It's tactics, definitely, but it's also emotions. Without the ball, we are a team with desire and passion to regain the ball from the first minute to the 90th.
"We also want the ball as much as possible and, especially, second half we used it very well."
On Jack Grealish's performance: "He was excellent. [At one] moment he will understand in the final third, 'this ball is from me'. He is very generous.
"When you see Phil [Foden] and Riyad [Mahrez] in that moment, it is their ball. This is the next step for Jack, but in terms of decision making, and using players in space, he was exceptional."

A tough day for Man Utd for sure, but calm heads will be needed.
This defeat, while hugely chastening, is just the second they have suffered in the Premier League in 14 games under Ralf Rangnick (W7 D5).
It is their first defeat on the road in the top-flight since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s final game in charge of the club at Watford in November.

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick to Sky Sports: "I think we played a good, if not decent first half. We were competitive. Difficult to concede an early goal. We came back, scored a brilliant goal ourselves then conceded another on the counter. It was a very difficult game against one of the best teams in the world. We conceded a fourth in the last minute of the game. It is a difficult game that shows we have a long way to go to close that gap.
"It was working. For us it was clear if we want a chance to win the game we have to do a lot of running. You have to be in attacking and hunting mode and we did that in the first half. The third goal killed us off in the end.
"It's difficult, if we attack them very high there is a lot of negative running you need to do. The third goal is a brilliantly taken corner and it is almost impossible to defend that. The second half they were the better team and they showed the quality they have. We struggled especially after they scored the third one."
On when Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani will return: "I don't know. I was hoping to have them available for this game. We have two important games coming up against Spurs and Atletico and we have to put our full focus on that."
On whether the game showed the gap between the clubs: "In the second half it did but the first half was a competitive game. Everyone knows how good they are. They are one of the top teams in the world and there is a gap between the two teams.
"We are fully aware we need to win games. This is one of the most difficult. It is accepting they were the better team today. But we look ahead to the next games and we need to win the next two home games - they are essential to us."

Since 2016-17, when Pep Guardiola first took charge of Manchester City, his side have won 512 points in the Premier League (W162 D26 L30), the most of any side.
That is also a massive 109 more than Manchester United (403 – W114 D61 L43).

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane was very unimpressed with what he saw in the second half. Speaking on Sky Sports he said: "United gave up and in a derby, in any game, it’s unforgivable.
"I can forgive mistakes, but not running back, not trying to tackle - there are players out there who shouldn't play for Manchester United again.
"There is no hiding place in top-level sport. We've all lost football matches but it's the way they've lost it. You expect them surely to play with a bit of pride but that's a reflection of where the team is at the moment.
"If you can't run back and put your body on the line when you're playing for Manchester United, it's shameful."

Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez told Sky Sports: "I think I have touched four balls in the first 30 minutes, but in my head, I had to stay focus.
"The first half was good and they [Man Utd] tried to play on the counter. Second half, we were more patient and more controlled and made the difference."
On his goals: "The first one, you just have to try and hit the target and the second one, I tried to put it high and it hit his face and went in. I will take both of them."

Speaking to Sky Sports, Manchester City's Kevin de Bruyne said: "I think Man Utd played differently to other occasions. They tried to press us and did well in the first half. We had a few more difficulties to get the ball around but in the second half we created more opportunities."
On his goals: "The chances came from that side and when they arrive I have to be in the right place. I can't explain why we always win over there [Old Trafford] but have more difficulty at home. Today, we played really well and deserved the three points.
"It's about winning game by game. They [Liverpool] won yesterday but we responded in the right way. Sometimes we don't get the result but we always play the right way and we will fight until the end of the season."
