    Man City 2-1 Man Utd

Jadon Sancho's composure leaves him at the crucial moment!

United get in down the right and work the ball through the box before Bruno Fernandes tees up Sancho. He shapes to curl into the far corner but spoons it high and wide, much to the joy of the home fans.

    Big chance.

Paul Pogba almost gets United in the deepest of bother.

His misplaced pass evades Scott McTominay and City are away. Kevin de Bruyne charges forward with the ball before finding Phil Fodenm who has ghosted behind Victor Lindelof but drags his shot across goal and wide.

Andrew Mitchell: So poor from Elanga. You can’t be that casual, especially not against a team like City. They don’t need your help to take you apart.

Khan Karn: Honestly, given how bad Man U's defence are, I'm surprised they are in the top 4. Look lost for both goals, no organisation, the only thing good has been 1 Sancho magic. A very average team.

De Bruyne has now been directly involved in 88 goals in his 100 Premier League home appearances for Manchester City and Chelsea combined (37 goals, 51 assists).

    I mean, that is useful.

Man City are playing well, they are in full control. It was only the one counter that Man Utd scored from where they weren't organised.

The break means both managers to hand out a mini team talk to their players. Pep is a blur of whirling arms as he talks Jack Grealish through something. Ralf Rangnick a bit more composed in his imparting of messages.

Something has occurred in the stands behind one of the goals. There was a lot of waving from fans to draw attention to it before stewards and medical staff flocked to help.

It means a pause in the game.

Hopefully, whoever is affected is OK.

The only player to score a hat-trick in the Premier League Manchester derby is Andrei Kanchelskis, who achieved this for United in a 5-0 home win on 10 November 1994.

Ralf Rangnick's football ethos places a lot of stock in high transitions and the damage that can be done to an opponent from them.

Manchester City have just shown his side the way with that second goal. From the moment United's clearing pass was intercepted they were scrambling to recover.

What a game this is. Manchester City, stung by the equaliser, are really going for Manchester United and have wrestled back control. United's defence creaking under pressure.

No surprise, the pass came in from the left hand side. Man City have had so much joy on that side.

David de Gea makes a good save but the individual skill by Phil Foden is incredible. Unlucky for Victor Lindelof, who passes the ball into the path of Kevin de Bruyne.

The Man Utd defending is not great at all. I'm looking at Harry Maguire and he is not saying much.

De Bruyne is now the first Manchester City player to score a brace in this fixture in the Premier League since Sergio Aguero in April 2015.

You always hope a game lives up to the ludicrous levels of billing given by the football media.

It's a joy when it happens.

    Kevin de Bruyne

    It's him again!

City lead again in the derby. United give the ball away with a poor clearing pass and it allows Phil Foden to gather, flick the ball better into his path and then fire a shot that David de Gea saves.

Bernardo Silva follows up... blocked... but the ball diverts off a United boot and perfectly for Kevin de Bruyne to fire in unchallenged.

His second. His side's second. The Etihad goes mad.

Phil Foden is almost rewarded for a moment of innovation. His inventive chip loops over David de Gea and hits the top of the bar before going over.

Jack Grealish then sees a shot blocked in the box soon after as City look to hit back after United's parity-restoring break.

Jadon Sancho has been directly involved in four goals in his last five Premier League appearances (two goals, two assists), after only managing one goal in his first 18 games in the competition.

Remember when some Man Utd fans were writing him off, saying he was useless and a waste of money?

That goal is his first at the Etihad in his first senior appearance at the ground.

    What a great goal.

It's all about the pass by Paul Pogba. When he gets the ball, Jadon Sancho makes the run on the left and the midfielder spots him.

Then it's all about the individual skill of Sancho.

He takes on two players and puts it in the bottom corner. No chance for Ederson.

Ralf Rangnick doesn't often go for big shows of emotion. He did after that goal, though. Full on celebration mode.
