Liverpool go up the other end with Jordan Henderson but Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah can't quite get a touch on the cross.

Brighton’s two midfielders have to play very, very carefully when they’re in possession, otherwise Liverpool will strike on the counter.

Trent Alexander-Arnold does well down the right but Lewis Dunk picks out the cross with ease.

It's given away again by Brighton until Marc Cucurella can carry it down the left.

Luis Diaz looks sharp. He gets it from Andy Robertson and tries to play a one-two with Sadio Mane but the return pass is too heavy.

He'd have been in behind on the left.

Liverpool are always dangerous.

Trent Alexander-Arnold slides in Mohamed Salah. He tries to pick out Sadio Mane, who connects with it at the front post but there's an important touch from Robert Sanchez to push it wide.

Solly March gets the better of Andy Robertson but Luis Diaz sprints back to provide cover. Applause from all stands at the Amex for the attacking intent and the defensive work.

Eventually, Leandro Trossard curls it into Alisson's arms from the edge of the box. All brighton at the moment.

Alexis Mac Allister spins away in the middle, lays it off to Solly March in space on the right but his dangerous low cross is hastily cleared by Joel Matip.

Liverpool haven't woken up and Brighton look well up for this.

Seconds after that header from Neal Maupay, he fizzes a really dangerous shot past Alisson's right post.

Inches. Liverpool allowed him far too much space!

Brighton have started well. Solly March picks out Tariq Lamptey in the middle and he curls it into Neal Maupay.

It's a bit too high for the striker and he heads it way over.

Alexis Mac Allister slips it left to Marc Cucurella in what looks like a promising Brighton move but the flag is up for offside.

He looks like a Liverpool player. He has great pace. He never wants to pass the ball backwards - always wants to play one-twos and go forward.

That’s the way Liverpool are. Jurgen Klopp has recruited incredibly well.

Trent Alexander-Arnold immediately tries to pick out Luis Diaz but his cross is too heavy.

Naby Keita then comes crunching in and is fortunate not to pick up an early booking.

In terms of Liverpool’s fire power going forward, it’s frightening. It’s frightening for any team to come up against.

And then they’ve got the stability at the back with Joel Matip when he is fit and Virgil van Dijk.

They are solid, they don’t concede many goals which allows them to be so explosive in attack.

Here come the players. Brighton are wearing their third kit today - yellow and blue - in support of Ukraine.
