    Leicester City

If anyone is ready for the international break, it's Leicester. This is their 42nd match of the season - and they still have at least another 13 games after this.

Not including the Community Shield [which they won], the Foxes have played in five different competitions this season.

After dropping out of the Europa League, they've made good progress in the Europa Conference League and face a two-legged quarter-final against PSV Eindhoven.

Half an hour before kick-off and Thomas Frank is doing an interview with Danish TV by the side of the pitch.

My Danish isn't very good but Christian Eriksen's name is being mentioned a lot.

Frank is very good with the media. He finishes the interview by shaking the hand of the interviewer before going off to check on his players, who are warming up on the King Power Stadium pitch.

  3. Eriksen will not join up with Denmark on Mondaypublished at 13:29 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2022

    Leicester v Brentford (14:00 GMT)

The Danish Football Union says that Christian Eriksen will now not meet up with the rest of their squad on Monday but is expected to join the camp later in the week.

The playmaker, 30, has been named in Denmark's squad for the first time since his cardiac arrest while playing at Euro 2020 last summer.

Eriksen was fitted with an implanted cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD)- a type of pacemaker - after his cardiac arrest against Finland.

The Danes are set to play friendlies in the Netherlands on 26 March and at home against Serbia three days later.

  4. 'I can see the Bees winning'published at 13:26 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2022

    Leicester v Brentford (14:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

I always thought Brentford would start winning games again, and beating two of the sides below them in Norwich and Burnley were two massive steps towards safety. They look a completely different team now Christian Eriksen is on board.

The Foxes played in Rennes on Thursday night so Brendan Rodgers will not get much chance to work on their issues, particularly facing set-pieces, and I can see the Bees making it three wins on the trot.

    Lawro's prediction: 1-2

So good to see Jonny Evans back on Leicester's bench after a long-term injury.

"He is a huge plus for us," Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers tells TV.

On Wesley Fofana missing out after returning from injury in midweek, Rodgers said the turnaround in matches was "too tight" to risk.

Timothy Castagne is making his first appearance of 2022.

  7. Eriksen absence a huge blowpublished at 13:14 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2022

    Leicester v Brentford (14:00 GMT)

    Brentford

Christian Eriksen is going to be a huge miss for Brentford. Their results in the games he has started:

    Away v Norwich 3-1 win

    Home v Burnley 2-0 win

In those two games Eriksen has had 138 touches, 3 attempts, one on target, one assist.

Since his first Premier League appearance in September 2013, only Kevin de Bruyne (80) has more assists in the competition than Eriksen (63).

Brentford were just three points above the relegation zone and dropping like a stone after losing 2-0 at home to Newcastle on 26 February.

Since then they've beaten both Norwich and Burnley to establish an eight-point safety cushion. A third straight win will see them go level on points with 12th-placed Leicester.

Hello! The daffodils are blooming, the nights are getting longer and that means we're at the business end of the season.

Tottenham are facing another trophy-less season but what happens to Harry Kane if they miss out on Champions League football? They need to beat West Ham to stay in the top-four hunt but the Hammers have not given up hope of finishing fourth themselves.

Before that, it's Leicester v Brentford. The Foxes just cannot string a winning run together in the Premier League, while the Bees have suddenly burst into life.

Leicester make four changes from the side that started at Rennes in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.

Marc Albrighton (groin) and Wilfred Ndidi (knee) both suffered injuries against the French side and miss out as does Wesley Fofana while Luke Thomas drops to the bench.

That means Caglar Soyuncu, Nampalys Mendy, Timothy Castagne and James Maddison all start for the Foxes.

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel, Justin, Amartey, Soyuncu, Castagne, Tielemans, Mendy, Dewsbury-Hall, Maddison, Iheanacho, Barnes.

Subs: Jakupovic, Evans, Perez, Choudhury, Pereira, Vestergaard, Daka, Thomas, Soumare

Brentford make two changes to the side that beat Burnley in the Premier League just over a week ago. Christian Eriksen misses out with Covid-19 and Sergi Canos drops to the bench as Mathias Jensen and Yoane Wissa both start.

Brentford XI: Raya, Ajer, Jansson, Pinnock, Henry, Mbeumo, Janelt, Norgaard, Jensen, Wissa, Toney.

Subs: Fernandez, Canos, Onyeka, Jorgensen, Baptiste, Fosu-Henry, Sorensen, Roerslev, Young-Coombes.

Will Tottenham go into the two-week lull in the top five? Will West Ham complete a first league double over Spurs since 2014? And can Brentford take another massive step towards safety by winning at Leicester?
