I'd take a 0-0 now because it stops the rot, then Reading can build from that.

Peterborough are awful, Reading are awful. It's two poor teams in really poor conditions.

There's pressure on all the players but they have to get on and do their job as best they can.

There could be a hero for one the teams this evening - it's set up for someone to be a hero.

On a night as windy as it is tense, these two Championship strugglers cannot be separated so far.

    Goalless at the break.

Posh were the better team for large parts, dominating possession, but were denied by Michael Morrison's off-the-line clearance and a couple of Karl Hein saves.

Reading took a while to get going, but once they did, they showed plenty of their own threat.

Steven Benda's save from Tom Ince's ripsnorting free-kick was special.

Handball in the box by Posh. Corner comes to nowt.

That might be it for the first-half.

Reading block Kwame Poku's cross but can't get out of their half.

Joe Ward curls in a great cross from the right, but Michael Morrison is behind it.

Posh nudging the ball around, one and two touch looking for avenues.

Ward then wins a corner on the right. The Posh fans lift.

    One minute added time.

Nathan Thompson is playing a key role for Peterborough, much like Jayden Bogle for Sheffield United or Djed Spence for Forest, from the right hand side.

He gets into a good space for the home side, but his slide rule ball into the box just overruns Jeando Fuchs through to Karl Hein.

  6. CLOSE!published at 40 mins

    Peterborough 0-0 Reading

Reading skipper Michael Morrison heads over the bar to clear, after Jeando Fuchs connects with a Kwame Poku cross in the box for Posh.

Had to make it, Karl Hein was stranded.

The corner is cleared, but only as far Oliver Norburn, who drives forward before hitting a fierce drive which pulls wide of the target.

    Posh back at it again.

Posh opt for a bit of keep-ball before pushing forward through Nathan Thompson.

He tries to work a one-two with Joe Ward, which is broken up, and then gets a second attempt to push forward.

Posh moving the ball around, trying to generate some of the rhythm they enjoyed earlier in the game.

Steven Benda, take a bow. What a stop.

Tom Ince runs up and lashes a free-kick on his left foot which sizzles over the wall and dips as though it's flying in for Reading.

However, Benda somehow palms it over, in midair.

    Absolute ripper.

Reading have got into this game in the last few minutes as the tempo from Posh has gone down.

The quality from back to front for Posh has been dreadful. Someone needs to get them together and tell them to settle down.

Andy Rinomhota plays a one-two on the edge of the Peterborough box, and just as he plays the ball ahead, he is caught by the home defence and goes down.

Big set-piece this. Right on the cusp of the box.

Frankie Kent clatters Yakou Meite, in a fair and honest manner as the Reading winger sets down the right. The Royal stays down initially.

Might have been a few heart flutters for the visitors as he has only just come back from injury.

Reading starting to pump some crosses in, but Josh Knight makes a good clearance.

Really good defensive work, with the head unsurprisingly, from Jonson Clarke-Harris to nod away a fizzing John Swift free-kick from the right.

The Royals recycle the ball, Swift tries to tease his way to the byline for a cut-back, but the ball goes behind before he can swing it in.

More promise from Reading though, who are managing the conditions better.

The wind is making talented professionals look a bit daft. Yakou Meite the latest one, for Reading.

He chases a long free-kick into the right channel, but despite poking out a leg is completely wrong-footed, and the ball goes for a throw.

Jonson Clarke-Harris has total aerial supremacy for Peterborough so far, despite the attentions of Tom Holmes and Michael Morrison.

He's winning flick on after flick-on, but Posh just can't quite make the most of his strong work up top.

Meanwhile, John Swift audibly lets his frustrations show for Reading, after he's denied a throw. Contains expletives.

Reading do look sharp when it goes up top. It just hasn't worked out for them at the moment.

    Another couple of Posh chances.

Karl Hein's clearance hands Peterborough a free-hit, but the shot is down his throat as he backpedals into position.

Jonson Clarke-Harris gets down the left and puts in a cross, but Hein takes it in his midriff in the six-yard box.

First real chance for Reading, as Tom Ince gets in down the left, but his low cross is stubbed away.

Baba Rahman races onto the loose ball and strikes first time, dragging wide.

Oliver Norburn got away without a booking a moment ago, but his latest challenge does result in a yellow card.

The Posh man is in the book.

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 20 mins

Peterborough get Nathan Thompson into a shooting position, and his rising drive from the edge of the box is parried well by Karl Hein.

    Two good saves.

Reading break after two Hayden Coulson crosses are dealt with, but as Danny Drinkwater plays a first-time ball forward for Tom Ince, the ball gets hooked by a big gust of wind and takes it away from the Stoke loanee.

Just shows what they're dealing with, and also what Posh should have to contend with second half.
