To be fair to Hemming, it bobbles right before it reaches him, but he probably should save it. Take nothing away from Hamilton though, what a massive goal that could be

GOAL ARBROATH 1-0 Kilmarnockpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2022

    Jack Hamilton

Jack Hamilton wins the ball back in the middle of the park, turns and drives towards goal.

He hits it low from the edge of the box and it beats Zach Hemming.

The goalkeeper's reaction suggests he's not happy that he didn't save that one.

    Arbroath 0-0 Kilmarnock

Michael McKenna reenters the field but then gestures to the bench that a substitute is needed.

Arbroath's top scorer this season is replaced by Liam Henderson.

  4. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2022

    Arbroath 0-0 Kilmarnock

Brandon Haunstrup and Michael Mckenna clash as the Killie full-back tries to burst past him.

There didn't appear to be any malicious intent in it, as the Kilmarnock man was on the break, but McKenna is down and looking hurt now.

The Arbroath player is receiving some treatment on the sidelines now...

The wind appears to have calmed down during the break, which was kind of it.

Hopefully, the conditions will now be more conducive for some entertaining Championship football.

Arbroath will be pretty happy so far. If they walk away with a draw, they're still top after playing against one of the top teams and one game closer to the end of the season. Dick Campbell will still be absolutely desperate to win all three points though, make no mistake

  8. You backed Arbroath pre-match...published at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2022

    HT: Arbroath 0-0 Kilmarnock

But who gets your vote at the interval, in our highly scientific poll?

    Thumbs up for Arbroath

    Thumbs down for Killie

  9. HALF-TIME Arbroath 0-0 Kilmarnockpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2022

All square so far at Gayfield.

Both sets of fans have been in fine voice all half, but neither side could find a breakthrough yet.

A few half chances have come and gone but no real goalscoring opportunities.

All to play for after the interval in this top-of-the-table clash.

  10. CLOSE!published at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2022

    Arbroath 0-0 Kilmarnock

Daniel MacKay rounds off Killie's best passage of play so far. He has the ball roughly 20-yards out, but his low, driving shot is saved by Derek Gaston.

The goalkeeper's initial save bounces off him a bit, but he recovers it well before Rory McKenzie has a chance to pinch it off his fingertips.

The clock is ticking into the final few minutes of the half now.

Will these sides remain deadlocked at the interval?

  12. Postpublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2022

    Arbroath 0-0 Kilmarnock

Thomas O'Brien clatters into Rory McKenzie out on the touchline but escapes without a booking.

But again for Kilmarnock, their delivery into the box is poor. Possibly a result of the conditions, though, making it hard to judge them tonight.

  13. Postpublished at 20:21 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2022

    Arbroath 0-0 Kilmarnock

Nicky Low hits a snapshot from 20-yards out, but goalkeeper Zach Hemming collects with ease.

In these conditions, it was definitely worth a crack.

  14. Postpublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2022

    Arbroath 0-0 Kilmarnock

Killie get up the other end of the pitch as the game sparks into a bit of life (just a bit, it's still a pretty tense affair).

From a corner, they fail to properly get the ball in the box though and, from the rebound, they end up surrendering the ball for an Arbroath goal kick.

  15. Postpublished at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2022

    Arbroath 0-0 Kilmarnock

Jack Hamilton shows some dancing feet in and around the box and gets his cross in but Michael McKenna fails to convert.

He was off-balance in fairness to the Arbroath man, though.

  16. Postpublished at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2022

    Arbroath 0-0 Kilmarnock

Still no real clear-cut chances to speak of, so far.

A few fouls here and there, but attacking football hasn't been top of the agenda yet, fingers crossed, though!

I'm not usually one for calling for players to be booked, but you need consistency in these situations

  18. Postpublished at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2022

A cynical play from Ash Taylor breaks up the play in the middle of the park.

Moments earlier, Arbroath's Scott Stewart is booked for a similar incident.

  19. Postpublished at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2022

A bit of a lull in the game now with a lot of cagey play in the middle of the park.

It's definitely got the feel of a massive game that neither side wants to fall behind in...

The home side are growing into the game now and getting more time on the ball.

Both sides are doing their best to keep the ball on the deck with the wind whipping in every direction.
