    Cardiff 0-0 Derby

Derby midfielder Krystian Bielik goes down and looks to be in some discomfort with, I think, his ankle.

He's not long back from a very lengthy period out and the Rams won't want to lose him again.

    Hopefully he can carry on.

    Cardiff 0-0 Derby

Cardiff haven't got striker Jordan Hugill into the game at all so far.

He's had one looping header from a high cross that went just over the bar.

He nearly has a chance out of nothing though as Derby play a square ball across the area to goalkeeper Ryan Allsop and the Norwich loanee almost gets in.

That was great build-up from Derby.

Nathan Byrne linked up well with Lee Buchanan, and it was a lovely little ball across.

Luke Plange just wasn't on the front foot and possibly wasn't expecting it.

    Cardiff 0-0 Derby

Derby launch a couple of threatening attacks.

First Lee Buchanan's cross causes real consternation from the left and then an attack from the right ends with Curtis Davies getting a shot off on goal from a corner.

  5. League Two updatepublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2022

Omari Patrick has given Carlisle what could be an important 1-0 lead at Rochdale. Carlisle are one of the six teams down at the bottom all within three points of each other and a win would move them three points clear of safety.

Fellow strugglers Barrow however have made their evening slightly more difficult at Bristol Rovers, as Niall Canavan has been sent off after only 32 minutes for bringing down Rovers striker Leon Clarke. It's still 0-0 there.

Harrogate are also 1-0 up against Port Vale.

  6. Postpublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2022

    Cardiff 0-0 Derby

Great defensive play from Curtis Davies.

Derby give up the ball on the halfway line and Isaak Davies looks to burst past the 35-year-old veteran.

However, the former Aston Villa man shows all his experience to get into a good position and see him off.

  7. Postpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2022

    Cardiff 0-0 Derby

Cardiff midfielder Tommy Doyle, who hit the crossbar with a great long range strike a few minutes ago slices well wide with an effort from 20 yards out.

Home side starting to get on top again now as the rain pours down in Wales.

As first jobs in management go Wayne Rooney's has been about as testing as you can imagine.

The England and Manchester United legend has done a really good job given the circumstances he finds himself having to operate in.

He'll be generally content with what he's seen from his charges thus far but they're really in a position where they need a win tonight.

  9. Postpublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2022

    Cardiff 0-0 Derby

Derby forward Festy Ebosele shows neat skill to cut inside from his right flank position.

He works his way across the Cardiff area but, with his clearly less favoured left foot, sends his shot high and wide.

Forest Green always have a dip, they always have this period. They did it last season when they were flying and then the wheels do fall off them.

But you'd have thought they would have learned from that experience of last season. They've got a lot of the same players in there. They've got such a big gap. They're 10 points clear at the moment over Northampton.

I can't see them messing it up. I'd like to think they wouldn't mess it up just for the sheer fact of you shouldn't let any outside noise affect what you're doing on the pitch. Especially in that commanding position they're in.

  12. Postpublished at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2022

    Cardiff 0-0 Derby

Nearly a chance for the visitors.

Cardiff give the ball away really cheaply in their own half and Derby launch a quick counter.

Lee Buchanan is played in down their left but he can't make the connection he wants from the edge of the area and his effort goes past Rams striker Luke Plange and well wide of the post.

  13. Rams need to change the recordpublished at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2022

    Cardiff 0-0 Derby

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium

Derby County have won only once on their Championship travels since August.

Wayne Rooney's team could really do with changing that record in south Wales tonight as they look to close the eight-point gap between them and 21st-placed Reading.

The Rams have made a solid enough start in Cardiff - although they are lucky not to be behind following that fabulous Tommy Doyle effort.

Ryan Allsop was beaten all ends up, but the ball came back off the bar and, fortunately for Rooney, fell to a Derby player.

    Cardiff 0-0 Derby

Just looking at replays of that Tommy Doyle shot against the crossbar for Cardiff.

I suppose we should expect wonderful technique from a player on loan from Manchester City but even then.

The 20-year-old took a great first touch off his chest and his dipping effort had Rams goalkeeper Ryan Allsop totally beat.

Hopefully that gets both teams going a bit.

    Oxford scoreImage source, Rex Features

We've had the first goals go in over in League One... Oxford took only three minutes to go 1-0 up at Portsmouth thanks to a goal from Marcus Browne, while Sheffield Wednesday are staying hot on their heels after Liam Palmer tapped in a cross to put them ahead at Burton.

Wycombe are also keeping up the chase on the play-off places at Cambridge where they've taken a 2-0 lead, with Anis Mehmeti and Garath McCleary both finding the net in the first 15 minutes.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2022

    Cardiff 0-0 Derby

    WOW!

That would have been a bit out of keeping with what we've been served up thus far!

Manchester City loanee Tommy Doyle sends a long range volley against the crossbar from miles out after the Rams half clear a corner.

    Great effort.

  17. Postpublished at 20:01 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2022

    Cardiff 0-0 Derby

Cardiff have hardly had a kick these past few minutes.

Lee Buchanan whips in a teasing cross from the left but there are no Derby takers before it is stuck behind for a Rams corner.

    The set-piece is overhit.

    Derby are looking controlled.

Festy Ebosele has had two good runs down the line, it's just the end product he's not finding.

It's been really positive so far though, and that's the most important thing.

Twice now Festy Ebosele has shown tremendous pace to get in down the Derby right.

This time his low cross is easily cut out by Alex Smithies in the home goal.

Just past the 10-minute mark and no real goalmouth action yet.

Both of these teams have lost their past two games and... Well, at the moment it shows.
