    Burnley 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham show their intent early as Harry Kane gets into space on the right but his low cross is knocked behind by James Tarkowski for the game's first corner, which comes to nothing.

  2. A good time to play Palace?published at 19:30 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2022

    Watford 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Watford got a huge win over Aston Villa at the weekend, and their first win in any competition since 20 November was just the lift their manager Roy Hodgson needed before goes up against his old team.

It might be a good time for them to play Crystal Palace, too. The Eagles are on their worst run of the season results-wise, and they haven’t won any of their past six league games.

I’m sure Roy will have targeted this as a chance of three points and their fans will probably expect a win, but after their victory at Villa even a draw here would keep the Hornets in touch with the teams just above them in the relegation battle. They just need to keep chipping away.

    Lawro's prediction: 1-1

  3. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:30 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2022

Two of the three Premier League games tonight are up and running with play having got under way at Watford and at Burnley.

Tonight is the designated Rainbow Laces game at Burnley.

Both chairmen, Alan Pace and Daniel Levy, have done columns in the programme and the LED Boards around the pitch are in rainbow colours as the teams come out.

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Both of these teams had great wins at the weekend, so they will be full of confidence.

I am going to go with Tottenham to win it, but Burnley striker Wout Weghorst is proving to be a real handful and I don’t think they will keep him quiet.

    Prediction:1-2

  6. It's raining again....published at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2022

This is my third visit to Turf Moor in recent weeks.

For the third time, it is raining.

Not quite as bad as when Roy Hodgson got absolutely soaked here for the Watford game but still pretty grim.

    Gareth Southgate is here.

Jurgen Klopp has apologised “in advance for the a series of repetitive boring answers in press conferences” when asked by the media what is “possible”, clearly referring to their title chances.

He says “the only game that matters for a team with a proper mentality is the next one you play”.

He also pays tribute to James Milner following his 800th senior club appearance against Inter Milan, saying: “I can’t imagine what it would be like to try and do all this without him here.”

The German also wants to clarify his thoughts on Milner’s future (current deal ends this summer). Klopp says it’s “my wish James says with us beyond this season, in a playing capacity” but also adds “it’s not fair or right to jump to the conclusion that an offer has been made, because I don’t think that’s fair on James. As should be the case, these things will get picked up in private.”

Virgil can Dijk must absolutely love working from home because he's gone 58 games at Anfield without tasting defeat.

One more unbeaten game tonight and he will equal Lee Sharpe's record set during his time at Manchester United during the 1990s.

There's been little to shout about for Watford and Crystal Palace fans in the first half of Premier League games so far in 2022, with neither side managing a goal in the first 45 minutes.

Bodes well for an entertaining start to tonight's game then...

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: "We cannot deny that [if Liverpool win they are in title race]. It's not really something we think about. What we think about is getting the next three points which is tricky enough. If other teams lose games and we win then we are in a better position."

Premier League archive: 'Magnificent Leeds' comeback in vain in Anfield thriller

Relive the best bits from the thrilling encounter between Liverpool and Leeds United from September 2020, as Leeds made a dramatic return to the Premier League after a 16-year absence.

Virgil van Dijk became Liverpool's top scoring Premier League centre-back and Mo Salah did Mo Salah things in a thrilling 4-3 win for the home side.

Former Liverpool defender John Scales has urged the Reds not to overlook tonight's opponents Leeds with a Carabao Cup final against Chelsea looming on Sunday.

After their win over Norwich and Manchester City's loss to Tottenham, victory would move Liverpool to within three points of the Premier League leaders.

"They are fighting on four fronts, everyone has got carried away saying they are in the title race, a cup final and still fighting for the Champions League," Scales told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"But to use a cliche, you have got to take each game as they come. Leeds is a great challenge for them tonight and they cannot look too far beyond the games coming up."

Well worthy of a mention Nathan! Great to see them doing so well after a terrible time in recent years.

Are Leeds in danger of going down?

Marcelo Biesla's side have lost six of their past nine Premier League fixtures, earning just seven points during that period.

They have won only one of their 12 league matches this season against a current top-half team, beating West Ham last month (D2, L9).

Realistically any sort of positive result for Leeds tonight will be a bonus, but I'm sure plenty of fans will keeping an eye on the Watford and Burnley scores too.

Newcastle fans will no doubt be keeping a close eye on tonight's games.

Kieran Trippier's arrival had massively boosted their hopes of survival but he now faces time on the sidelines through injury.

He's on BBC Radio 5 live tonight so be sure to tune in to hear what he says from 19:00 GMT.

    Burnley v Tottenham (19:30GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Turf Moor

The absence of Maxwel Cornet is a major blow for Burnley.

The Ivorian has struck up a decent understanding with new signing Wout Wieghorst which had the seeds of an attack that might solve the Clarets scoring issues.

Jay Rodriguez ended his 50-match scoring drought against Manchester United earlier this month but is not really a like-for-like replacement.

There are just two unbeaten teams in the top four divisions of English football in 2022 - Liverpool and Huddersfield.

One or both those runs could end tonight with both teams in action.
