  1. Good nightpublished at 22:28 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2022

Okay, hands up who predicted two big away wins this evening.

Rangers conjured up one of the best Scottish results in Europe to hit four goals past Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

Celtic were then widely expected to see off Bodo/Glimt, who are between seasons, but the Norwegians had very different ideas, rattling in three goals and making a mockery of the notion that they would struggle physically.

It's been quite a night but neither tie is over.

Before next week's return legs, Rangers visit Dundee United on Sunday and Celtic host Dundee later on the same day.

  2. 'Still an opportunity for Celtic' - Postecogloupublished at 22:23 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2022

    FT: Celtic 1-3 Bodo/Glimt

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has also been speaking to BT Sport.

    "A disappointing night", he said.

"We didn't get the result we wanted. The performance was okay - we controlled the game, but got caught on the counter a couple of times.

"We probably weren't clinical enough, but that's part of football. You dust yourself off and go again.

"We conceded the first goal and then after their second that gives them the opportunity to sit back and hit us on the counter-attack.

"It's still an opportunity. It's about going there and playing our football. When we do that we're a hard team to knock off. Let's see what happens."

  4. 'We've still got naivety at this level' - McGregorpublished at 22:13 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2022

    FT: Celtic 1-3 Bodo/Glimt

Celtic captain Callum McGregor has been talking to BT Sport post-match.

"It's always difficult when you go behind early in the game", he said.

"We missed that last bit of quality around the box tonight. There's enough in the game to suggest we can go there and turn it around.

"They got into good situations, and our quality wasn't what we're used to. We've got to step up in these big games.

"If the game finishes 2-1 then we've got a real good chance, but that's the naivety we've still got at this level, with it being a new group.

"We'll take that on the chin, go there next week and try to turn it around."

That third goal was a real killer, coming so soon after Celtic had got one back. It sucked the life out of the stadium just as the home fans were preparing for a grandstand finish from their side.

However, Bodo/Glimt didn't really allow Celtic to build momentum at any stage.

I thought it was a brilliant performance from Bodo/Glimt with and without the ball. They were tough for Celtic to break down, and impressive on the break as well. I was looking forward to seeing them tonight - you hear good things, especially with their 6-1 win over Roma. Celtic had most of the possession, but couldn't find the final pass - they didn't have the same speed about their play.

  7. Big splash from small clubpublished at 22:01 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2022

    FT: Celtic 1-3 Bodo/Glimt

It's not over yet, with a second leg to come inside the Arctic Circle next Thursday, but Celtic will need a hugely improved performance if they are to trouble what was a well organised and physically imposing side.

It's worth remembering that the entire population of the Bodo municipality could fit inside Celtic Park...

  9. FULL-TIME Celtic 1-3 Bodo/Glimtpublished at 90+6 mins

Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt have done a number on Celtic.

The Scottish Premiership leaders have it all to do in the second leg next week.

Bodo/Glimt haven't played a competitive game since December, but they were better in every department on an off-night for Ange Postecoglou's side.

Celtic are pushing Bodo/Glimt deeper and deeper as time ticks away. The home side could really do with another goal to take into the second leg next week.

Oh my word. You cannot give away a goal like that. Hatate loses it, and then they get in between Celtic's midfield and defence. Vetlesen gets his shot away and it takes the deflection. Carter-Vickers has to get out to him quicker.

It's not happening for Celtic in the final third. It hasn't been what we've been used to, but that's down to how the opposition have played - they haven't allowed Celtic to be in any way comfortable.
