Terrible defending from Arsenal but brilliant from Jordan Ayew. Gabriel inexplicably dives in for the ball, goes to the ground and Ayew's first touch is perfect. He then bends the ball beautifully around Aaron Ramsdale. It is a clinical finish and what a start by Crystal Palace.

The intensity is from Crystal Palace, haven't seen enough of it from Arsenal in these early stages.

Arsenal are trying to keep the ball for a bit but they are being put under pressure from Palace's pressing.

Jeffrey Schlupp wins it back for Palace now and links up with Wilfried Zaha.

Wilfried Zaha tracks back to rob it off Cedric Soares and Palace have a throw-in inside their own half.

They have been really intense in these opening 20 minutes.

First of all, what a ridiculous challenge from Ben White on Wilfried Zaha to give away the free kick. Delivery from Conor Gallagher to the back post. Jean-Philippe Mateta hangs around the centre of the goal and plants a firm header beyond Aaron Ramsdale. No chance for Ramsdale.

Cedric Soares' throw-in finds Thomas Partey near the byline and he volleys it across the face of the goal.

There's nobody there for Arsenal, with Alexandre Lacazette hanging back near the edge.

The assistant referee has a problem with his mic so there's a quick break in play before Vicente Guaita gets things back under way.

Cedric Soares is put under pressure out wide as he tries to whip it into the feet of Alexandre Lacazette.

It almost comes through but Marc Guehi steps in to clear.

Alexandre Lacazette pings it over to Bukayo Saka on the half-volley and there's a high bounce.

Tyrick Mitchell comes across to cover and gets the better of Saka.

Palace fans wanted a penalty but his arms looked to be in a natural position. In fact, it doesn't hit his arm.

Conor Gallagher chips it back into the centre from the right but it's over Wilfried Zaha's head.

Bukayo Saka brings it down on the far side and gets it away despite appeals for handball. He definitely caught it on his thigh!

Nick: Kieran Tierney can't play tonight because his Dad's refereeing. Standard ruling.

Great noise and tempo so far at Selhurst Park!

Thomas Partey has started well and has a few nice touches with Granit Xhaka before it runs away from him on the edge of the Palace box.

Another good attack from Palace as Wilfried Zaha whips a dangerous ball in from the left.

Arsenal break and Alexandre Lacazette almost slides in Emile Smith Rowe but he can't quite bring it under control.

Conor Gallagher hounds down Aaron Ramsdale. He plays a sloppy pass. Wilfried Zaha then puts pressure on Cedric Soares and it doesn't quick break for Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Jean-Philippe Mateta gets in between the Arsenal defenders in the box and tees up Conor Gallagher.

He's about to shoot but the offside flag is up on Mateta.
