  1. Jasper in for Hibs; four St Johnstone changespublished at 14:21 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2022

    Hibernian v St Johnstone (15:00)

Hibs could almost name an entire side of injured players - and it would be fairly close to a first-choice team for Shaun Maloney.

He is forced into one change. The suspended Rocky Bushiri drops out, with Sylvester Jasper replacing him - suggesting a change of formation.

Callum Davidson welcomes back first-choice keeper Zander Clark and makes another three outfield changes.

Glenn Middleton returns from ineligibility, while Dan Cleary and Cammy MacPherson also come into the side. Elliot Parish, James Brown, Jacob Butterfield and Nadir Ciftci all drop to the bench.

  2. United aim to get Euro hopes back on trackpublished at 14:19 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2022

    Dundee United v Hearts (15:00)

It has been steady as you go for Hearts this season as they continue to seemingly sail smoothly towards finishing the campaign in third spot.

After a minor recent wobble, the capital club have responded well with back-to-back victories over St Mirren and Aberdeen.

12 points clear in third spot, it appears to be a case of when Robbie Neilson’s side secure the position - and they can take another step towards doing that when they travel to Dundee United this afternoon, a side they have already beaten twice this season.

As for United, they are currently in sixth spot, clinging on to their place in the top half of the table - right in the centre of a cluster of teams battling it out mid-table.

The statistics they take in to the game can be interpreted in a couple of ways.

On the one hand, they were five games unbeaten in the league prior to their midweek defeat to Livingston, however they have only won twice in their last 15 Premiership outings.

Tam Courts will be hoping to get back on the victory trail this afternoon to help keep their top six - and European - aspirations firmly on track.

  3. Football for a fiver at Easter Roadpublished at 14:17 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2022

    Hibernian v St Johnstone (15:00)

A sell-out crowd will watch on at Easter Road as Hibs host St Johnstone in Leith.

Tickets at just £5 have prompted a capacity crowd, but will they see a free-scoring Premiership affair? The stats don't look positive.

Hibs' drab goalless draw at Dundee on Wednesday was their seventh blank in nine league outings.

As for St Johnstone, who are a point and a place above bottom side Dundee, Callum Davidson's men have scored a measly 18 goals from 29 Premiership games.

Motherwell make two changes following Wednedsay's defeat by Ross County, with Juhani Ojala and Joseph Efford replacing benched duo Jake Carroll and Connor Shields.

Dundee, who have a Covid outbreak, make five alterations from the team that started Wednesday's goalless draw with Hibernian.

Harrison Sharp, 20, takes over from Ian Lawlor in goal and makes a first senior start. Lee Ashcroft and Vontae Daley-Campbell return to the defence, with Shaun Byrne and Declan McDaid included further up the park.

Charlie Adam, Niall McGinn, Danny Mullen and Paul McGowan make way and are not in the squad.

  5. Watt & Mulgrew miss out for United; Hearts unchangedpublished at 14:12 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2022

    Dundee Utd v Hearts (15:00)

Dundee United have key players missing, with Tony Watt, Charlie Mulgrew and Kieran Freeman all out of the squad after starting in midweek.

Dylan Levitt has also not managed to make it back from injury in time. In come defender Scott McMann, midfielder Kevin McDonald and forward Nicky Clark.

Manager Tam Courts also has 16-year-olds Rory MacLeod and Craig Moore in the squad.

Robbie Neilson sticks with the same Hearts side that defeated Aberdeen 2-0 in midweek.

Cammy Devlin had limped off in that game but is fit enough to start again. Right-back Michael Smith is the only absentee as he struggles to recover from a back injury.

  7. Can Rangers pile pressure on Celtic?published at 14:09 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2022

    Rangers v Aberdeen (15:00)

Ibrox will be in party mood today as Rangers celebrate 150 years since their foundation at home to Aberdeen.

On the pitch, Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side have picked up just 16 points from a possible 27 since the season resumed and can't afford many more slip-ups.

Victory against the Dons, who are on a nine-game winless run, would move the reigning champions level on points with Celtic, who face a tricky trip to Livingston tomorrow.

Jim Goodwin, still searching for his first win as Aberdeen boss, lost all seven of his Premiership matches against Rangers while in charge of St Mirren.
