Important defending by Joe Gomez as Philip Zinckernagel races onto a ball over the top but Gomez tracks the run and then prods the ball out for a throw.

Joe Gomez is the first played booked for a foul. James Garner then sends the free kick into the box but Alisson claims before slipping as he kicks out, much to the home fans' amusement.

Ooh, almost a sneaky goal as Harvey Elliott's cross is blocked and Joe Gomez shoots first time from the deflection and the ball looks to be floating towards the top corner before Ethan Horvath snatches it out of the air.

Ethan Horvath claims the ball on his goalline after Joe Lolley had headed back towards goal following Virgil van Dijk's hooked ball back in from a corner into the middle of the box.

Khan Karn: Liverpool seem to lack pace without Diaz, Salah and Mane. Only Ox seem to be running with the ball. Elliot seem better in CM than RW. Origi, Minamino or Diaz needs to join the party I feel

Liverpool have had more than 60% for most of this game but there's never been a feeling they are fully comfortable. Nottingham Forest are just not letting them settle and do their thing.

Good work by Liverpool as they work the ball forward quickly with some neat one-touch passing. Diogo Jota has the ball just outside the area and goes for goal but puts his shot too close to Ethan Horvath.

Djed Spence, who prompts a huge roar of excitement from the home fans whenever he gets the ball, wins a corner for Nottingham Forest.

James Garner delivers to the near post but Konstantinos Tsimikas clears.
