What game is everyone watching here? All these moans about Liverpool and the players; yes it's 0-0 but we should be at least 1 up and are controlling the game. Too much impatience - the second half against Arsenal should be a lesson

Andrew Ogley: Liverpool is meant to have an improved depth of squad these days but the performance of these fringe players in this first half indicates a quite different story.

A reminder that whoever wins this tie will face Manchester City in the semi-final.

That makes for a daunting few fixtures for City, whose games from 6 April to the cup tie look like this:

    Atletico Madrid (H)

    Liverpool (H)

    Atletico Madrid (A)

    Nottingham Forest or Liverpool (Wembley)

Liverpool are too complacent. Forest look very handy.

    Alex

I lost count how many times Keita lost the ball with his first touch. He needs to wake up or he will be on the bench in the second half.

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Liverpool

No goals but a cracking FA Cup tie. It felt like it was played at 100mph from the first whistle.

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Liverpool

Joe Gomez sends the ball into the box from a throw in but James Garner heads away. Again, plenty of possession for Liverpool but Forest are keeping them at bay.

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Liverpool

Joe Gomez comes steaming in as Harvey Elliott does well to keep the ball alive on the right but the Liverpool defender blazes over.

Hard to read what Jurgen Klopp is making of his first FA Cup quarter-final as he watches on from his technical area.

Mark Willis: Hope Klopp can see this isn't working. Thiago, Henderson and Diaz on early second half please.

Liverpool are keeping up the pressure but not really doing too much to trouble the Nottingham Forest defence at the moment.

A nice move by Liverpool as Fabinho floats the ball out to Diogo Jota, who knocks it back into Konstantinos Tsimikas' path but a heavy first touch takes it out of play.

ThePenaltyHasKilledFootball: Liverpool are playing like a Championship team : too rushed & impetuous, not taking the time to control the game.

HUGE let off for Nottingham Forest!

A mistake at the back by Jack Colback and Roberto Firmino is in. He runs towards the goalkeeper, drawing him out before then trying to chip the ball over Ethan Horvath but the Nottingham Forest shotstopper reads the danger and deals with it. Should Firmino have squared to Diogo Jota though?

Big moment as that looked certain to be 1-0 Liverpool.

No goals, no real testing shots yet but there's a good tempo to this game with both sides getting forward quickly at every opportunity.

The dangerous Djed Spence is able to raid down the right but Virgil van Dijk gets across well and then calmly prods the ball away from the Nottingham Forest full-back's feet.

Philip Zinckernagel has a great energy about him, always looking to drive Nottingham Forest forward and he is it at it again after a spell of Liverpool possession. He works the ball out to Joe Lolley, who runs towards the area but then pulls his shot wide.
