Well, that could have been a lot worse after the loss of such an early goal. Rangers have been far from out-played but yet again they are indebted to the brilliance of Allan McGregor.

The Marakana crowd have kept it noisy but haven’t had too much more to shout about since that early opener.

Alfredo Morelos is caught under the cross and fails to get his head on it, then Glen Kamara is slow to react and doesn't do enough to block the shot.

Rangers' aggregate lead has been reduced but they still have a two-goal cushion to play with.

Red Star's early goal was a bit of gift, with the Ibrox men all over the place from a corner.

Allan McGregor has made two impressive stops, while Rangers haven't really tested Milan Borjan at the other end.

Rangers are spending more time in the Red Star half now and the game is very stop-start, with lots of niggly fouls creeping in.

The offside flag goes up as Joe Aribo slips a pass in for Alfredo Morelos. The Colombian doesn't really catch the shot, so it's no trouble for the goalie anyway.

Ooft! A let-off for Rangers as a long ball is knocked into the path of Milan Pavkov but the Red Star striker scuffs a rushed shot wide from 15 yards, with just Allan McGregor to beat.

That's better from Alfredo Morelos as the Rangers striker cuts in from the right and drills a low shot just wide of the far post.

Rangers stand firm at a corner and now the visitors try to spring something but this time Ryan Kent isn't able to pick out Alfredo Morelos with a pass.

Rangers have a three-on-two attack but Alfredo Morelos makes a terrible hash of his pass to Ryan Kent and now Red Star are racing up the pitch.

A long diagonal picks out a man at the back post but the header is easily gathered by Allan McGregor.

If it were possible, I think the volume inside the Marakana has just been cranked up a notch. It looks like Dejan Stankovic’s statement about this crowd making Red Star “twice as strong” wasn’t far off the mark.

Here come Red Star again and Joe Aribo does well to help out his defence, taking the ball off the toes of Aleksander Hatai.
