Red Star have their tails up and Allan McGregor is at full-stretch to push away a shot from Mirko Ivanic.

Quote MessageThat's been the vulnerability for Rangers all season, balls into the box from corners and free-kicks. Someone has to go and attack this. At this level, that much space is unforgivable.
Mirko Ivanic
Oh dear, what a soft goal for Rangers to give away.
A corner just isn't dealt with, with the ball bouncing through to Mirko Ivanic, who is able to crash a shot past Allan McGregor in a crowded penalty box.
Red Star Belgrade 0-0 Rangers (0-3)
A wee scare for Rangers as Red Star break at speed and Connor Goldson's clearance thumps against an attacker but the defender gets a second bite at it and knocks clear.

Alfredo Morelos zips a shot away from the right edge of the penalty area but it's a comfortable take for the home goalkeeper.

A clumsy challenge from Leon Balogun as he puts an arm on Ohi Omoijuanfo at the edge of the box and the Red Star striker goes for a dramatic tumble.
The ref just waves him back to his feet as the crowd jeer their displeasure.
Red Star Belgrade 0-0 Rangers (0-3)
Rangers have won 37 of the 45 Uefa ties in which they have built a first-leg lead at home.
This is the 36th time Red Star have lost the first away leg and they've come back successfully 14 times. Only one of those was from a three-goal deficit and that was a long time ago when they beat Dynamo Berlin 4-1 after a 5-2 defeat to go through on away goals in the 1978-79 Uefa Cup.
Red Star Belgrade 0-0 Rangers (0-3)
A very early corner for Rangers. It's played short and when the ball does come in, it's easily dealt with by the home defence.

The noise as the players emerged from the tunnel was quite something and hasn’t really let up since. Having said that, it’s not quite the ‘Welcome to Hell’ I’d been led to expect. I don’t see the atmosphere being an issue for the Rangers players at all. They just have to deal with matters on the park.

After a silent tribute to a former president of Red Star, Romanian referee Istvan Kovacs peeps his whistle and away we go in Belgrade.

Here come the teams... The stadium is close to full and the fans are making a right old din, but they are quite a distance from the pitch, which has a fair sized track surrounding it.
No smoke bombs or pyros. A bit tamer than I expected...

Quote MessageIt'll be a quick match. I think there could be goals galore. Rangers will be expecting a quick start from Red Star - it's whether they try to absorb that pressure in the first 20 minutes and then change the system.

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been talking to BT Sport ahead of kick-off.
"We have to play our own game, don't take the hostile atmosphere too much in you," he said.
"We have a great result to take into this game, but we come here to get a good result - that's the starting point.
"We are well prepared, we can be very dynamic in this system. They play with two strikers, they are going to push us. They are very dangerous, they have skilful players and speed up front. We attacked them really well [at Ibrox] and we have to do the same today.
"We want to be in the quarter-finals. A good result here, and we go back to Glasgow with a quarter-final ticket."

Red Star are likely to come flying out of the traps as they seek an early goal, so Rangers will need to be resolute in defence.
But they will also get chances to spring forward as they did with such devastating efficiency away to Borussia Dortmund, when they scored four over in Germany.
Two of their three goals last week came from set-pieces and that's another Rangers will look to exploit.

Red Star recovered from last week's defeat at Ibrox to take over at the top of the Serbian SuperLiga.
They came from behind to win 2-1 at second-bottom Metalac, while city rivals Partizan were held to a 0-0 draw at home to mid-table Napredak.
The Belgrade giants are now locked on 72 points each after 27 games.

Ibrox hero Ally McCoist was a substitute in that 3-0 loss and was assistant manager to Walter Smith in the 2007 return.
"I still think it’s the most intimidating place I’ve ever played or watched a game of football," said McCoist last week.
"They gave us a going over in 1990. That was a proper team and we had a good team at the time as well."
Looking ahead to this tie, the former Scotland striker said of his old team: "They have given themselves a fantastic chance, but they will have to play well again."

Whisper it, Rangers have lost 3-0 at this stadium before.
That was a first leg tie in October 1990 as Red Star swept their way past the Ibrox side in the second round on their way to winning the European Cup.
That team included superstars Robert Prosinecki and Darko Pancev, who both scored, and there were 82,000 in attendance that night, 30,000 above the current capacity.
Rangers' last visit was altogether more successful, holding on for a 0-0 draw after a 1-0 win at Ibrox in a 2007 Champions League qualifier.

Only one team has ever overturned a deficit of three goals in the first leg of a knockout tie since the Europa League started in 2009-10.
Valencia lost 3-0 to Basel in the 2013-14 quarter-finals, only to triumph 5-0 at home.

Red Star manager Dejan Stankovic certainly hasn't thrown the towel in and he's relying on energy from fans to drive his side on.
"The stadium gives our players double the energy and strength they usually have," he said at Wednesday's media conference.
"I'm sure Rangers won't be intimidated because they are used to playing in a great atmosphere, but they will be facing a team that is twice as good as they were in Glasgow."
