Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus to Sky Sports: "Today was my day. We played very good today, we created a lot of chances, that's what we need to do

"We made passes and passes to create chances and try to score, and today we were very good on the finishing.

"It was my first hat-trick in the Premier League. I've tried. Sometimes I've scored two then I've hit a post, the defender has blocked [my shot], or the keeper has saved, but today was my day.

"I'm very happy with the three points. The team played so good and we deserved it."

On Kevin de Bruyne: "He's an amazing player, always trying to put the ball in the box. When I'm playing on the right side I do as well, but he does it better than me of course.

"Always when he has the ball I try to go in the area to finish and today I was happy he gave a very good cross and I could head it in."

On putting pressure on Liverpool: "We have to do out job, not look to them. We know they have a lot of amazing players and can win all the games. We are in front and, of course, it's not easy but we have to do our job."

Brentford are the only one of 31 Premier League clubs that Harry Kane has faced without scoring.

Brentford have won their past three games, while Tottenham had a wobble against Brighton last time out just when they were gathering momentum.

Bees midfielder Christian Eriksen will get a great reception from the away fans but I think his old club will leave with the points.

I know all the teams in that top-four race have been throwing away points recently but I can't believe Spurs will slip up again after their defeat by the Seagulls.

Prediction: 1-2

Newcastle United

Newcastle striker Joelinton, speaking to Sky Sports: "I am very, very happy. I will remember this day forever. The most important thing is the win and with two goals I am very happy to help the team.

"It is nice to have the support with you after a tough time here. Today they have my shirt and they sing my name. It is a great feeling. I hope it continues and makes them happy.

"He [Eddie Howe] had done a great job since he arrived. Our players as well, we work so hard and it is nice to be in the position we are now after a tough period. Hopefully we can keep it going to the end of the season."

Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay speaks to BT Sport: "Goals change games. For us we didn't put it in the back of the net enough and they did. We dominated the opening 25 minutes of the second half and they go up our end and score - which is how it's going at the moment.

"There is a whole load of problems in terms of players, staff and everything higher up. We need to concentrate when we go on the pitch, it's pride on the pitch - give your best everyone.

"There are a lot of things going on at the minute. But for us when you get home and take a look in the mirror. You can't go back to your house and be satisfied conceding three at Arsenal when we deserved to win the game. For us, self-belief, lack of confidence, you can see it all.

"We have a half decent game today but the belief - so big in football - it's just not there at the minute.

"The last four games are about pride for us. We have to finish as well as we can do. When the new coach comes in we need to be ready for everything.

"It comes down to the basics and we never do them well enough recently."

Manchester City have a four-point lead at the top as Liverpool prepare for the Merseyside derby tomorrow.

Tottenham are up next, away at Brentford, hoping to regain fourth spot after Arsenal leapfrogged them with victory over Manchester United earlier.

In the Premier League in 2022, only Liverpool (35 from 13 games) have picked up as many points as Newcastle (32 from 15 games). At the turn of the year, the Magpies were 19th in the table having amassed only 11 points from 19 matches.

Newcastle have won four consecutive Premier League fixtures for the first time since March to April 2018 under Rafael Benítez. Eddie Howe equals his longest Premier League winning streak as a manager: four for Bournemouth from May to August 2018.

All over. Leicester have Roma next. Villa have at least ended their losing run.

James Maddison then wins it back but Harvey Barnes drags the shot.

All over at the Etihad. Man City extend their lead at the top with a brilliant victory over Watford, who are surely down and out.

An utterly one-sided encounter, settled by two Brazilians.

Joelinton bagged two goals, with Bruno Guimaraes scoring the third.

Newcastle are amazingly up to ninth in the table. Norwich are heading down to the Championship.

Ben Jamin: Newcastle still being (mathematically at least) in with a shout of European football at this stage of the season, considering how it was going early on, is astounding. What a turnaround!

There's a scramble in the box as Villa cross it in from the right. A few penalty appeals, nothing given.
