Fixtures placements have not been kind to Everton. Lose today and Burnley could be 8 clear next Saturday. I can see Everton becoming a modern day Leeds if they drop, with the financial impact, especially in their current plight. Could be a long way back.

Chelsea have been in this position so many times, under pressure in a game in a stadium baying for blood. They've taken the sting out ofg the game, getting Jorginho on the ball, knocking it side to side, moving Everton deeper.
They are not even looking to threaten in behind yet; they've had no attempts. but they are gradually moving up the pitch.
Everton 0-0 Chelsea
Ouch. Antonio Rudiger sends Seamus Coleman flying with a badly-timed challenge. The Chelsea defender is booked and Coleman gives Rudiger a little shove in frustration.
Anthony Gordon is over the free kick but there's groans around the ground as his delivery loops all the way to the back post and the opportunity is gone.

Boubakary Soumare breaks down the right and fires in a low cross. Tottenham's defence is static as the ball gets to Patson Daka, whose low strike is pushed onto the post by Hugo Lloris.
Great save.
Everton 0-0 Chelsea
Good work by Demarai Gray to win the ball deep inside the Everton half. He quickly finds Richarlison, who tries to break but runs into three Chelsea players.
Everton's fans appreciate the commitment shown, though, and applause warmly.

Everyone seems to stop play as Kai Havertz appears to be fouled on the edge of the area but Mason Mount plays on and his looping shot is just onto the roof of the net.
Moments later, Yerry Mina goes down inside the area under a challenge but nothing is given.

Tell you what, I've been to some loud games inside Goodison this season, but this tops the lot.
Everton have matched their support with great urgency, and Thomas Tuchel is screaming at his players to push up. This will be a test for even their most experienced internationals.
Speaking of which, Thiago Silva's Brazilian battle with Richarlison is already shaping up nicely.
Tottenham 0-0 Leicester
First opportunity for Leicester as Ayoze Perez cuts in from the left and takes a shot but it is into the sidenetting.
It appeared to take a slight deflection off a Tottenham player and Perez is fuming at the decision to award a goal kick.

Everton might have a chance if Richarlison and Gordon stay on their feet.

Thomas Tuchel is out on the touchline, just trying to make sure his players up their game. Everton have won all the 50/50s; he's letting them know he expects more.

An early corner for Tottenham but Eric Dier can't get direction on it from Son Heung-min's delivery.
Everton 0-0 Chelsea
... well that was disappointing.
Anthony Gordon curls the free kick well over. Nevertheless, a positive start by the hosts.

We're under way at Everton and Tottenham. Two big games, but they all are at this stage.
