Surely being a supporter or having a soft spot for a team, means you stick with them through both the good times and the bad times. This is defo a bad time. In Frank we trust!!!!!

Oh it should be 2-0! It really should.

Brilliant from Abdoulaye Doucoure as he rides a challenge on the edge of the Chelsea area, slips in Vitaliy Mykolenko, who has time and space to pick his shot but lashes over.

    Will Everton rue that?

It is a gift from Azpilicueta. Richatrlison presses him and he thinks he's got so much time when he hasn't. He takes far too long; Demarai Gray is on hand to feed Richarlison who strokes it home.

Chelsea were sloppy first half and that has continued.

    Richarlison (47 mins)

    BIG!

A horrible mistake by Cesar Azpilicueta as he is pressured in possession by Richarlison. Demarai Gray prods the ball forward to the Brazilian who then slots into the far corner.

Goodison Park goes wild. This could be a huge goal in the relegation battle.

Richarlison picks up a flare after scoring and chucks it off the pitch as he celebrates.

I was at the 84 milk cup final and watched Everton through the 80s and I've always had a soft spot for them. Not now though; really want them to go down. Fans have hounded out good managers, players are average, and petulant; and the current manager is simply not up to it. Sad state of affairs.

BBC Radio 5 Live commentator at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham have been slick at times, but certainly not dominant. Leicester have ruffled their feathers on several occasions.

But if the visitors do go chasing the game in the second-half, it may play into Tottenham’s hands.

We saw both Newcastle and Aston Villa try it recently and they got badly punished.

Lots of hate towards Everton from other supporters on here.. acting like their own team have more Saints in them than Southampton.

There's hope for the second half for Everton. They've conceded two or three in the first half quite often against weaker sides, let alone Chelsea.

They've kept a clean sheet, you saw what happened against Manchester United. One goal can then win the game.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

Tetchy and scrappy is how I'd describe that half.

Everton, though, have defended well as both sides go in at half time level.

Rhys: Weird people moan about Gordon who may have dived around 10% of what Mane, Salah, Dias, Kane, Nani, Valencia, Ronaldo, Zaha, Fernandes, Jota and co have and continue to do so.

dax fullbrook: Kane and Son aside, Tottenham do not have one player with the magic touch. There’s no spark. It’s all predictable.

Dave: So Everton can’t even be a decent impersonation of Atletico Madrid and this why Frank Lampard is a “great” manager? Spare me. Only thing that keeps them up is the others around them being poorer. If it happens.

Kevin Friend has completely lost control of this game already. It'll be a surprise if both sides finish with 11. When will the premier League have officials up to the high standard of the players and teams?
