  2. 'Kulusevski dropping out is normal rotation'published at 13:16 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    Tottenham v Leicester (14:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte on dropping Dejan Kulusevski: "It's rotation. When you have the possibility to change good players, you do. It is a normal rotation."

On having no shots on target in the past two games: "We try to work because we have not had a shot on target, usually we are able to score goals and create chances.

"But in the last two games we have faced two good defensive teams who were deep and didn't give us space to attack. We continue to work and improve."

On Leicester making eight changes: "You can understand it, they are a really good squad. The team is still very strong even with the changes."

  3. A good game to get top-four bid on track?published at 13:14 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    Tottenham v Leicester (14:00 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson

Tottenham have dropped points in some unexpected places in the past couple of weeks, losing at home to Brighton and then being held by Brentford.

I think this is a good game for them to get their top-four bid back on track, though.

Leicester played Roma in the Europa Conference League semi-final on Thursday, with the second leg next week, and that competition is their priority now because winning it is the only way they are getting back in Europe next season.

    Prediction: 2-0

Race for the top four: Arsenal to finish fourth. Spurs blow hot and cold. To go down: One from either Leeds or Everton. Burnley could be safe by next weekend if they beat Villa. Watford will join them when Palace beat them. No hard feelings, Roy!

Former England defender on Saturday's Football Focus

There is massive pressure now for Frank Lampard at Everton against his old team. I think the 3-2 defeat they had against Burnley was a significant result. The Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek signings, none of that has worked.

I don't think they were the right fit for the situation they were in.

People have really got to stand up now in that Everton changing room. My instincts are telling me they go down. I really hope not. It's a fantastic football club.

Will sentiment play any part today?

Everton boss Frank Lampard is Chelsea's all-time leading goalscorer, having scored 211 goals in 648 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Everton were much improved against Liverpool last weekend, and did really well for the first 60 minutes or so.

Yes, they were doing whatever they could to slow the game down and frustrate the Reds, but it was working and they carried a bit of a threat too.

In the end, they just couldn't last out but there was nothing wrong with their spirit and it was still really encouraging, especially going into this game, where they will need to work just as hard to get anything out of Chelsea.

This is the first time Everton boss Frank Lampard has come up against Chelsea since losing his job at Stamford Bridge last year, and I don't think it's a bad time to play them.

Chelsea might make some changes after playing Manchester United on Thursday but they are pretty much sure of a top-four finish and Thomas Tuchel might just be looking now to work out his FA Cup final team.

    Prediction:1-1

    Tottenham v Leicester (14:00 GMT)

Sweden attacking midfielder Dejan Kulusevski loses his place in the Tottenham starting XI as manager Antonio Conte makes just one change from last weekend's 0-0 draw at Brentford.

Brazil forward Lucas Moura comes in to replace Juventus loanee Kulusevski, who drops to the bench despite providing three goals and plenty of assists in recent weeks.

Spurs XI: Lloris, Romero, Dier, Davies, Emerson Royal, Bentacour, Hojbjerg, Sessegnon, Lucas Moura, Kane, Son Heung-min.

With an eye on Thursday's Europa Conference semi-final against Roma, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has made eight changes to his side.

Keeper Kasper Schmeichel, full-back Timothy Castagne and winger Marc Albrighton are the three who keep their place from Thursday's first leg against the Italian side.

Jamie Vardy drops to the bench, but James Maddison misses out altogether.

Leicester XI:Schmeichel, Castagne, Amartey, Soyuncu, Thomas, Mendy, Soumaré, Albrighton, Iheanacho, Pérez, Daka.

If anything is going to have a big say in the relegation battle, it is the atmosphere at Goodison.

That could prove the difference in some of the decisive games coming up and the fans have been out in force building up the atmosphere ahead of kick off.

Today is also about the fight to finish in the top four with Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal all in action.

Chelsea, currently third, are almost there but Arsenal and Tottenham are realistically fighting it out to join them.

Tottenham host Leicester City at the same time Chelsea are at Everton (14:00 BST) while Arsenal are at West Ham at 16:30.

    Good afternoon!

It is tense at the top and the bottom as little continues to separate Manchester City and Liverpool in the title race, while at the bottom Burnley's recent run of excellent form is making things very interesting.

Norwich are the first team to have confirmed their drop into the Championship after losing to Aston Villa yesterday and Watford are on the cusp.

Realistically it is three teams looking to avoid that final relegation spot.

Ten points from a possible 12 has put the Clarets in pole position to escape the drop and the pressure has instead be turned up on Leeds and Everton.
