Arsenal are starting to grow into the game; it is evenly matched with both sides having spells of possession, but Arsenal are starting to get into it a tiny bit more.

Kurt Zouma is high up the pitch and he feeds Said Benrahma on the left. The forward twists and turns before crossing for Zouma, whose header hits a defender.

There's a quick check for a possible handball but it is only a quick check and nothing given.

Nuno Tavares whips in a cross from the left but it is cleared by the West Ham defence.

Both sides are just cancelling each other out at the moment.

Said Benrahma tries to wriggle past Takehiro Tomiyasu on the left before crossing low into the box but he had been unable to keep the ball in play.

Another corner for Arsenal, which this time is punched away by Lukasz Fabianski before the whistle goes for a foul inside the box.

Slow burner this one.

Eddie Nketiah turns and shoots from 25 yards. Ambitious, but he does win a corner as the shot is blocked. Martin Odegaard sends in the corner but Kurt Zouma powers a header away.

Mohamed Elneny is caught by a late challenge by Kurt Zouma and he is down on the ground injured. The Arsenal midfielder is eventually OK to get up and continue before Granit Xhaka has the game's first shot in anger, but his driven effort is blocked.

Aaron Cresswell pumps the ball to the edge of the Arsenal area, trying to find the run of Jarrod Bowen but Aaron Ramsdale is quick off his line to gather first.

Almost a quarter of an hour gone and no chances. We've not had a shot on or off target yet from either side.

Arsenal are so used to having the ball and dictating the play; it is a key part of how they play. So far in this game, West Ham look to be the better team.

West Ham are seeing more of the ball at the moment as they continue to try and find joy down the wings.

Some start to this game. Both sides are going for it, really competitively for the ball. Declan Rice going really hard. Quite a good tempo so far.

Calm passing the ball out of defence by Arsenal as Granit Xhaka carries the ball into the West Ham half but then his ball towards the edge of the box is intercepted.

Top four looks like a tall order for West Ham but it will be mathematically over today if they lose.

The hosts try to work the ball down the left but there's no space so have to turn backwards.

Aside from that early Arsenal corner it has been a pretty quiet start. Battling for possession in midfield is the pattern of play at the moment.
