A lot of managers might look at this game and think West Ham need to wrap a couple in cotton wool; David Moyes thinks 'put them out there and play. We'll think about what comes first'. It is a massive game in the Premier League and they want to win it in front of their fans.

  5. West Ham focus on Europepublished at 16:29 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

West Ham v Arsenal (16:30 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

West Ham are fully focused on Europe at the moment - this follows the first leg of their Europa League semi-final with Eintracht Frankfurt, which is absolutely massive for them.

As I've been saying all season, West Ham don't have the biggest squad and they will almost certainly make some changes here.

That should help Arsenal, although the Hammers will still be difficult to beat.

    Prediction:1-2

  7. Winning today was of vital importance - Contepublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    Tottenham 3-1 Leicester

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte speaking to BBC Sport: "It was a good performance against a really good team and not an easy game, but you know in England there are never any easy games - especially against Leicester who have a good squad.

"Despite making eight changes the Leicester team was good and strong so for this reason we have to be delighted we got three points. It was of vital importance to us to stay in this race [for Champions League].

"No-one could have imagined when I arrived in November we could be in this race still, but these players are deserving to fight for such an important place. it is not easy to qualify for the Champions League in England.

"I think we were more clinical in this game. There was space for us and we exploited in very well. That was the key."

On Son's importance: "W e are talking about a player with great skill and great ability. He's very good with the left foot and the right foot sometimes the question which is you favourite foot. I'm delighted for him and the strikers.

"Our squad is not so big and we keep fingers crossed we don't have many injuries because otherwise we will be in trouble."

  8. 'We are too easy to score against'published at 16:26 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    FT: Everton 1-0 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to BBC Sport: "It is disappointing because over the last four matches we don't have enough points for what we want and it is concerning. We have one clean sheet over the last four matches and it is far too easy to score against us.

"We can't stop doing individual mistakes. We struggle to have repetitive top performances. Today was an OK performance but OK is not enough.

"We conceded in the first minute of the second half and it becomes more difficult,. The way we gave this goal away was absolutely unnecessarily. If we keep on giving goals away it ends up in the results we have had recently.

"We were not on the highest level. We trusted the team. Maybe we could have changed more. That is something I will reflect on personally."

  9. 'Fans were man of the match today'published at 16:25 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    FT: Everton 1-0 Chelsea

    Everton

Everton boss Frank Lampard, speaking to Sky Sports: "Seven minutes added on was a bit of a surprise!

"Difficult. They are always a team that will put you under pressure late on. We did brilliantly. The team, stadium, the fans were man of the match today. From the drive in to the support, which we need. Thanks to them.

"The fans are in the middle of this. I am pleased the players could see on the way in what it means to the fans. They know that and understand it. They got behind us, were nicely aggressive, this place has to be a hard place to come. Results have been good here at Goodison before I came, we have to maintain that.

"We have to fight for points, we are in the relegation zone and we have to go with that same spirit every game.

"They [the players] have to show they care. I like that. They don't have to go over the line but have to show they care, the fans want to see that. I prodded them a bit before the game because the situation is clear. We need to perform with that level in all our remaining games. That needs to keep coming in and if it doesn't we have to sort it out.

"Jordan made great saves. they are Chelsea and will have chances but we had chances as well. Jordan is such a great lad, he is England's number one and that is the reason why.

"That is top level goalkeeping, I a happy with him and all the players and all the subs who came on."

  10. Rodgers laments 'cheap' goalspublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    Tottenham 3-1 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think over the course of the game the scoreline is a little harsh.

"We started well and Lloris makes a good save from Ayoze and we played with confidence.

"Defending corners has been a problem for us all season - we lack aggression and cuteness. It was so disappointing.

"It is something we will have to look at in the summer through personnel. The mentality to head the ball is missing, it's something we would need to address.

"We got the game back again and started the second half with confidence. We missed a challenge we cannot miss and they end up getting the goal from that. The challenge is in our favour we have to win it.

"The players kept fighting and the spirit was there. We kept fighting until the end. It is frustrating because of the nature of the game and there were lots of pleasing things.

"But you can't give away cheap goals."

  11. 'We hate to lose'published at 16:18 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    FT: Everton 1-0 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to Sky Sports: "We hate to lose, we are responsible for it, it was our resposnsibility in Old Trafford to not have more - we struggle to have consecutive clean sheets and top performances and that is why we lost today.

"We have to be without mistakes, disciplined in your positions and don't make mistakes. When you have that much possession, we did not play our best match but we were in control, and then we gave a goal away and it kills the game for us because it is everything the opponent wants. It is a huge pattern in our season.

"We have now four matches in the last two weeks and one clean sheet, that needs to change - if we try to get away with OK performances that is not good for us, we are a team that needs to be on the very top limit on every match basis. If we try to get away with OK we lose games.

"We struggle with concentration and determintation levels and you see that in the last four matches."

  12. 'We can't get too carried away'published at 16:16 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    FT: Everton 1-0 Chelsea

    Everton

More from Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford: "It is what I am there for and it is a team effort at the end of the day, it is all about getting three points. I really enjoyed it but that is what I am there to do, help the team. We cannot get too carried away, we have to keep fighting and the fans have played a massive part.

"The manager spoke at half-time and said to Richarlison to keep doing that and your chance will come. It shows working hard as a team and individuals and you'll get rewards."

  13. 'He is world class'published at 16:13 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    FT: Everton 1-0 Chelsea

    Everton

Everton captain Seamus Coleman: "The results yesterday pulled them away and not many gave us a chance today, but we believed and the reception we came into, we couldn't get too carried away, but this football club means everything to those fans and we had to replicate that today."

On Jordan Pickford: "That save he came back off the line and parried out was world class and we see that on a daily basis in training and that is why he is England's number one - some of the saves were world class.

"I have been here a long time and never been in this situation but never felt like I did coming into the stadium today - the flares and genuine passion in grown men's faces singing the Everton songs, if that doesn't touch you as players you might as well hang up the boots."

  14. 'It means the world to us'published at 16:11 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    FT: Everton 1-0 Chelsea

    Everton

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, speaking to BBC Sport: "I am a very passionate person and it means the world to us to get the result today.

"Our character and team spirit drove us on today and with the fans behind us like they were it was incredible. Now is about today, we will enjoy it but come next week we will focused on the next games.

"I worked hard all week. It is rewarding when you make the saves to help the team out as they help you out as well. It is a team effort and that was my job.

"We know their quality, they are Champions League winners and we got the feeling at Goodison that with hard work and dedication we would get the result.

"The fans are very passionate. To get that buzz on the bus coming in it touches you. We have still got five games, we will take them as they come."

  15. Scoring early was important - Sonpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    Tottenham 3-1 Leicester

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham's Son Heung-min after scoring twice and setting up Harry Kane in the win over Leicester: "It is always good to win the game that way, three goals in the Premier League is not easy but it was a fantastic performance from the team and we deserved the win.

"It is always important to score as early as possible, especially when you're playing at home. We talked about wanting to score set pieces and we worked really hard. We practised some situations in training and we are happy to score in that way.

"If we're not scoring goals we are going to struggle and Harry's goal was really important."

On the part played by Cristian Romero's tackle for Spurs' second goal and his stunning strike for the third: "Winning the tackle was a risky challenge but sometimes you need it and Cristian made an unbelievable tackle.

"I was happy to score that really beautiful goal. When I hit the ball I could see the way the ball flied and I was happy to score that. but I'm more happy to play well and get the three points."

On the prospect of winning the Golden Boot after scoring his 19th league goal of the season: "It's not important for me. Scoring goals is really good but you can't score alone. You need the team.

"If I get the chances then I will try to score. The Golden Boot is always a dream but the team is most important. We want to finish in the Champions League and I want to play in the Champions League."

    Everton 1-0 Chelsea

It is party time in the stands at Goodison. There's been some low, low moments for Everton fans this season so they are rightly savouring this moment of celebration.

There is still a long way to go but if they show that fight in the remaining games then the likes of Leeds and Burnley are going to be feeling very nervous.

Son Heung-min is the last Spurs player off the pitch, flanked by the cameras, and rightly getting a lot of attention from the home supporters as well.

His second goal was a thing of beauty, and he now has 19 for the season in the Premier League. He’s never finished as Tottenham’s top scorer in the league before, but that’s likely to be his personal prize this season.

What a noise from the home fans. They have more than played their part in this win.
