    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC One

The standard of football these clubs have been producing the last few years has been ridiculous.

Last week was amazing, I've no doubt today will be exactly the same.

Both teams refuse to budge in what they believe in, how they think the game should be played and today should be another cracker.

  2. Maybe I need to be more selfish - Grealishpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

Man City v Liverpool (15:30 BST)

BBC Sport's Kelly Somers sat down with midfielder Jack Grealish at Manchester City's Academy Stadium to interview him for BBC One's live coverage of today's game.

Somers also interviewed Grealish in the summer during England's Euros campaign, when they discussed his close relationship with his sister, who has cerebral palsy, and his love of playing football just for the joy of it.

This time they focused on his start to life at Manchester City after his £100m move from Aston Villa last August.

Manchester City are playing just three days after they drew 0-0 with Atletico Madrid to secure a 1-0 aggregate win and progress to the Champions League semi-finals.

The squad trained at Championship side Millwall to cut down on travelling distances between games.

"It is exhausting to travel from Manchester to London," Pep Guardiola said.

"The people in the club tried to find somewhere near the ground, this is why we used Millwall."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to BBC Radio 5 Live:

"Circumstances are obviously different today, it's 50/50 supporter-wise and the summer is introducing itself to England!

"It will again be intense but we will be ready.

"I have said to the boys this is my seventh season in England - and I have never said 'welcome to the semi-final of the FA Cup'. It is big for us, it is our first chance and hopefully it won't be our last.

"It will be difficult today [in the heat] - we all love Liverpool but it is not famous for the best weather in England. It will be different but for both teams as we are both from the north west."

Three of City's five at the back are probably not first choices - that raises your eyebrows as a player.

They are not hopeless of course - but you might think it might give you a bit more of a chance.

But today is going to be narrow margins.

Mr Jones: 2-2 twice in league. Same again would be nice so then we not only have goals but also an extra 30 minutes of top quality action at a top venue.

  20. 'Salah has to start'published at 14:17 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

Man City v Liverpool (15:30 BST)

    Danny Murphy
    Former Liverpool and England midfielder

It is 753 minutes since Mohamed Salah's last goal in open play for Liverpool but there is still absolutely no chance I would leave him out of Saturday's FA Cup semi-final with Manchester City.

Ignoring penalties, Salah has not found the net with any of his past 38 efforts at goal over the past two months but he has to start at Wembley because he is a match-winner, and he has earned the right to play in big games like this one even if he is on a bad run.
