The striker for City's future is some bloke called Erling Haaland.

Apparently, he scores goals. Lots and lots of goals.

I suspect he's going to be a popular pick in next season's fantasy football.

It has been a tale of two strikers for part of this week at Manchester City - one from the past, the other for the future.

We'll start with the former and the statue that the club have unveiled of Sergio Aguero outside the Etihad.

It captures his most famous moment in a City shirt - the goal in the fourth minute of injury time in the final game of the 2011-12 season that sealed the title.

"It was the best moment of my life," said Aguero.

"For me that moment changed my life, changed the club and everything. That moment always will be in my heart."

  7. Your thoughts on Spurs' top-four chancespublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 15 May 2022

    Tottenham v Burnley (12:00 BST)

We asked for your reaction to the north London derby win over Arsenal and where that leaves Spurs in the race for the top four.

Here are some of your comments:

Cane: What a performance. Every player put in a top shift. It couldn’t have gone any better. Sets up an awesome finale to the season. We HAVE to do the business against Burnley, plus, I never realised until now that I’m also a Newcastle fan...

Terry: What an atmosphere inside the ground last night. Players responded after the first 20 minutes. Now three points against Burnley is essential. All down to last two games, hard to predict way the season has gone so far.

James: Obviously depends on Spurs winning both matches which is not a given. Similarly Arsenal have to drop points in at least one of their games. The most likely is a draw on Monday against Newcastle and provided that Spurs have won the previous day they would be under a degree of pressure to perform. Best scenario I can imagine. Arsenal's to lose.

Martin: I don’t think Arsenal will slip up but it all depends on whether they can play their best players.

  8. 'I believe Conte will stay at Spurs' - Hutton backs managerpublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 15 May 2022

    Tottenham v Burnley (12:00 BST)

Antonio Conte will stay at Spurs regardless of whether they qualify for the Champions League this season and he will want Daniel Levy to open his chequebook to strengthen the squad.

That's the view of former Tottenham full-back Alan Hutton, who was impressed by Spurs' empathic win over Arsenal and is unconvinced by speculation over Conte's future.

"You hear stories that Conte will leave if they don't make the top four. I think he will be here," Hutton told BBC Radio 5 Live's Football Daily podcast.

"I wonder if sometimes when he speaks in press conferences, he's just offering a nudge to Levy to get players in so he can make the squad how he wants.

"Part of bringing Conte in was so that Spurs can challenge the top teams, and obviously there will be players he wants to make that happen."

Ben Davies is one player who has established himself in Conte's first XI and Hutton believes he is thriving in this team.

"He is someone who is going under the radar and quietly being very effective," he said. "He's been a quality player for Conte, showing his boss that he can do the job."

Antonio Conte says he is "100% and more" committed to Tottenham and hinted that he is likely to stick around.

The Italian has been vague on his future in the past, even suggesting that he may not be the right man to manage the club.

But, after Spurs' 3-0 win over Arsenal on Thursday, he said: "From the moment I came into the club, and in every club I worked in in the past, I go totally with my heart, mind and head.

"Totally. 100% and more. This is my characteristic. I'm a passionate person. I think I showed this passion.

"I think to see me afterwards sometimes on TV, it's not simple to see me in this way. I'm very passionate, I'm this way. I like to go totally into the club where I work.

"I know that only in this way I'm able to give everything. And also, to find the way to receive everything from my players, my club and the fans.

"Because if I'm the first person to give 200%, then for sure I can ask for this [in return]."

  10. We're in the top four for every category bar pointspublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 15 May 2022

    Tottenham v Burnley (12:00 BST)

    Chris Paouros, Spurs fan, external

We're the Coleen Rooney to Arsenal's Rebekah Vardy - composed, experienced, prepared, with a killer instinct.

We had double the shots on goal, more tackles, more accurate passing. We now go on Sunday for three points, then hope Arsenal, with their injuries and suspensions - and the fact they are obviously are on a downer - are foiled by Kieran Trippier and his team-mates at Newcastle on Monday.

They might be one point ahead, but the momentum is ours.

We’re the fourth-best team in everything but that one point. We’ve scored more goals, conceded fewer. We have an additional draw where they’ve won, and hopefully we’re not going to rue that loss to Brighton.

But look, we’ve got a worl- class manager who is taking us places, and players who are talented and experienced. They just always needed that little bit extra.

Hopefully, Conte is the one who is going to push us on.

It means today's first game is a really juicy one, between two teams with so, so much to play for.

Spurs' win over fierce rivals Arsenal in the week means they are seriously breathing down the Gunners' neck and can strike a huge blow with a win today.

But up against them is a Burnley side fighting for their top-flight life. If they manage to upset the odds and bag the three points today and Leeds lose they are all but safe and the Whites pretty much consigned to the Championship barring a miracle.

It’s less than 72 hours since Tottenham beat Arsenal here on Thursday evening but Spurs make only one change from the side that beat the Gunners.

Lucas Moura comes in for Dejan Kulusevski, who drops to the bench.Tottenham XI: Lloris, Sanchez, Dier, Davies, Emerson, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Sessegnon, Moura, Son, Kane

Subs: Gollini, Austin, Winks, Rodon, Kulusevski, Bergwijn, White, Scarlett, Craig

Burnley make three changes from the side that lost to Aston Villa last weekend.

James Tarkowski has not recovered from the hamstring problem that he suffered in that game, so Kevin Long comes in at centre-back, for only his second start of the season.

Ashley Barnes will operate as a lone striker, so Maxwel Cornet and Matthew Lowton replace Wout Weghorst and Aaron Lennon, who are both on the bench.

Burnley XI: Pope, Roberts, Collins, Long, Taylor, McNeil, Cork, Brownhill, Lowton, Cornet, Barnes

Subs: Hennessey, Weghorst, Lennon, Bardsley, Mancini, Thomas, Dodgson, Costelloe, McGlynn

There's also a load of money to play for in the middle of the division, with each extra spot in the table worth around £2m.

That's enough to make players think twice about being on the beach.

  16. All to play for...published at 10:50 British Summer Time 15 May 2022

There is only a week to go in this Premier League season, but there is still plenty to sort out.

The big one is the title, with Manchester City capable of going six points clear of FA Cup-winners Liverpool today.

There's also top-four shenanigans to sort out, with Tottenham able to sneak ahead of north-London rivals Arsenal ahead of their game at Newcastle tomorrow.

And then there's the battle to avoid the drop, with Burnley first up and hoping to strike a telling blow at Spurs, with Everton and especially Leeds hoping they can capitalise on a Clarets slip-up.
