This is so confusing. I thought offside was just decided by the technology. Why has he gone over? Is it to check for a foul? The pictures look like it's to check for offside.

Why aren't they just telling Anthony Taylor in his ear, it's offside it's not a penalty.

That makes no sense to me that the referee has to go over to the monitor to look at an offside decision.

Morocco are just trying to control the game with their passing. They're not in any hurry, they don't need to be.

Morocco try to slow Canada's recovery by keeping the ball at the back but it's Canada who are winning the ball back quickly now and trying to force the issue. Morocco are currently in charge of Group F but they need to be careful here.

Some boos from the Belgium fans to our right as Anthony Taylor runs over to the VAR screen. It doesn't look like much contact - if any - from the replays we've seen on little screens in the media box. It looks like he's checking for offside though.

Jeers from Croatia's fans and a big relief for Belgium.

Canada are playing for pride, they won't want to lose another one. I think that would be six World Cup defeats.

Tajon Buchanan slid in there and almost silenced the Moroccans.

The whistles in the direction of the Canada players are deafening, piercing your eardrums and getting right into your skull.

It's rash, a big header from Vertonghen initially, Carrasco just loses the ball with a poor touch.

Not a lot of connection but there's enough on his foot to go down and Anthony Taylor did not hesitate.

It does look as though Canada have found their feet again after that early onslaught. The Morocco fans have succeeding in creating a hostile atmosphere but John Herdman's side are beginning to settle on the ball now.

Larin's build up play was beautiful, he had such pace and poise but he just put too much on it and it was slightly behind Buchanan. I'd like to see more of that.

It's a waste, in a game they have to win. They need to take the big chances and it was Mertens getting the chance. De Bruyne did everything and was away, timing the pass to perfection to Mertens. Just leaning back, trying to feel into the far top corner, big opportunity that.

Boufal is another handful on this Morocco left hand side. He's certainly in the mood tonight.

Not much trouble at the back for Morocco so far, with Canada struggling to put passes together, certainly in any meaningful areas.

A swift break has the Atlas Lions running back to goal but the final cross into the box is just missing. First warning signs for Morocco.

The chances keep on coming for Belgium. Kevin de Bruyne is driving at the Croatia defence after a counter-attack and tees-up Dries Mertens who lifts it over the bar with a first-time attempt.
