If you want a prediction for how this game is decided, I'm going to go with the USA piling too much forward and the Netherlands picking them off on the break.

It shows the inexperience from the US. With the first goal, when the opponent has 12, 14 passes or whatever, it comes a point where you have to break that up. They didn't disrupt the flow and they were punished.

I think that last stat is less an endorsement for the Dutch and more an indictment of this World Cup for its first-half action!

Netherlands have scored four first-half goals in four games, no team has scored more in the 2022 World Cup.

The USA had 78.7% possession over the final 15 minutes of the first half.

That was some celebration from Daley Blind. He turned back and ran over half of the pitch with his arms outstretched, straight to the dugout where he was piled on by the substitutes. The entire squad celebrated together with Memphis Depay arriving last to jump on top of them. A show of togetherness.
