All the chances are coming Senegal's way.
They look so dangerous with their quick, incisive breaks.
Imagine if they had Sadio Mane...

A crescendo of noise from the Senegal fans after another BIG chance goes their way. England supporters respond with a chant.
For all their possession, England haven't created much. Senegal will need to take one of these chances soon.
England 0-0 Senegal
England are causing their own problems. Too slow in general and too sloppy at crucial moments.

Brilliant save from Jordan Pickford, it really was. Very strong with his left arm. Very sharp after a mistake from Saka.
England 0-0 Senegal
Big save from Jordan Pickford!
England err again as Bukayo Saka gives the ball away. Ismaila Sarr weaves into the box and then feeds Boulaye Dia, who gets a yard on John Stones and fires a shot from an angle that the England keeper blocks with his arm.
It's another golden opportunity for Senegal. That's two now.

Senegal's turn now to keep hold of the ball and make England chase them.

Andrew: This has all the hallmarks of a smash-and-grab Senegalese win. Hope to be wrong, but this is England & a tournament of upsets...

Keith: All my optimism has drained away.
Chris: Too slow, too negative
David: We are just so ponderous.

It looks a bit measured at times. There is a lack of movement in the forward areas. Players are getting isolated and standing still. England fans are really invested in the game and not getting too involved and then on the Senegal side there is a big party going on. It's great to watch.

El-Hadji Diouf is in the building. Got some guns on him now too.
England 0-0 Senegal
Bukayo Saka remaining busy. He pops up on the left and tries to chip a pass over for Luke Shaw, but he doesn't get enough on it. Senegal doing a good job of denying England any room.
To be fair, England are not helping themselves by moving the ball so slowly.

Senegal are winning the ball and putting it straight into their front players. Dia is getting the ball and running the other side of Stones and Maguire. They clearly see that as a game plan of how they are going to beat England today.

Senegal appear to homing in on Harry Maguire's lack of pace and twice he has been struggling to cope. He looks edgy. England's defence have had a few anxious moments so far and they were grateful Jordan Pickford did just enough to put Ismaila Sarr off when he had that chance.
England 0-0 Senegal
A few England players screaming at each other now. They can feel the momentum of the game starting to shift.

Dia thinks he was fouled. Sarr gets into the six yard box. It's twice now that England have been caught out. If our passing is not quite right, we're in trouble. The speed at which Senegal get the ball forward and the directness of their attacking players is going to cause us problems.

Jack: That was a let off. Absolute sitter
Tony: Got away with one there
England 0-0 Senegal
England had 69.5% possession in the opening 15 minutes, with centre-back pairing Harry Maguire (23 touches) and John Stones (22 touches) seeing the most of the ball.
After them, Jude Bellingham (19 touches) has been busy - winning more duels (five) than anyone else on the pitch. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has won all three of his tackles and won two fouls for England, both game-high figures.
The majority of his tackles and recoveries have come high on England's left, where he has been most active.

What a let off for England.
Sloppy from Harry Maguire in possession and Senegal should be ahead.
Not that that moment of excitement has disrupted the rythym of the Senegal drums.
It is absolutely relentless. Fair play.

Jordan Henderson is absolutely screaming at Bukayo Saka to make a run down the right and create space.
